Meet Gatlin Fenwick â Headwater Sage Coach
For Gatlin Fenwick, this work didnât begin with a certification or a career plan. It began with life.
After losing his son, Blake, in 2020, Gatlin began searching for ways to better understand grief, the mind, the body, and the patterns that can keep us trapped in our own thoughts. That search led him deeply into meditation, yoga, mindfulness, nervous-system regulation, and eventually the practice that changed the way he understood all of it: the breath.
Gatlin went on to train through the Language of Breath Teacher School and the Eckhart Tolle School of Awakening, studying not only breathing techniques, but the relationship between breath, awareness, emotion, stress, and the nervous system.
Today, Gatlin is a coach at Headwater Sage and the founder of Blakeâs Tinman Foundation, where much of his work centers around one simple idea:
Your breath is something you carry with you everywhere â and learning how to use it can change the way you respond to any situation in life.
Gatlin specializes in teaching people the Language of Breath â helping them understand what their breathing patterns are communicating and how to intentionally use the breath to influence their physical and emotional state.
He works with people who struggle with anxiety, overthinking, stress, and feeling stuck in fight-or-flight, teaching practical breathing and awareness tools that can help them regulate their nervous system and regain a sense of control when their mind or body begins to run away from them.
He also has a particular passion for working with athletes and the mental side of performance.
Competition creates pressure. The heart races. Breathing changes. Thoughts speed up. Muscles tighten. And sometimes an athleteâs greatest opponent becomes the voice inside their own head.
Gatlin teaches athletes how to recognize those moments and use breath and awareness to reset, regain focus, manage pressure, recover from mistakes, and return to the present moment.
This isnât about learning how to âtake a deep breath.â
Itâs about learning the language your body has been speaking your entire life.
Breath. Awareness. Regulation. Resilience.
