🧬 Why Yearly Lab Work Matters
Your health can change long before you notice symptoms. Yearly comprehensive lab work gives you a snapshot of what’s happening inside your body—and, more importantly, allows us to track trends over time.
At ProAge Medical Spa, we look beyond simply asking, “Are your labs normal?” We look at patterns, changes from year to year, and markers that may provide valuable insight into metabolic health, inflammation, nutrient status, hormones, thyroid function, cardiovascular risk, and healthy aging.
A Few Key Markers in Our Longevity Panel
❤️ Homocysteine
Homocysteine is involved in methylation and cardiovascular health. Elevated levels can be associated with increased cardiovascular and neurologic risk and may be influenced by nutritional status, particularly folate and B12.
🧬 IGF-1
IGF-1 provides information about growth-hormone activity and is involved in muscle, bone, metabolism, and tissue repair. Tracking it can provide additional insight when evaluating healthy aging and body composition.
🔥 hs-CRP
High-sensitivity C-reactive protein is a marker of systemic inflammation. Tracking inflammation over time can help provide context for cardiovascular and overall metabolic health.
🩸 Iron Studies & Ferritin
Iron status affects oxygen transport, energy production, cognition, exercise tolerance, and thyroid function. Ferritin is especially useful because iron deficiency can sometimes develop before anemia appears.
⚡ Magnesium
Magnesium is involved in hundreds of processes throughout the body, including muscle and nerve function, glucose metabolism, cardiovascular function, and energy production.
🌸 Hormones
Our panel includes important hormone markers such as estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, SHBG, FSH, LH, DHEA-S and prolactin. Hormones can change significantly with age and life stage, and evaluating them alongside symptoms and other labs can provide a more complete picture.
