Imagine if you and your spouse could go on a date night knowing that your baby or toddler will fall asleep easily and stay asleep with a babysitter or grandparent. How would that change your life?

Here’s your reminder that naps don’t have to look perfect 100% of the time. Getting out of the house and living your life is so important when you have napping babies or children.

I follow the 80/20 rule. I aim for about 80% of our naps to be at home and in routine. The other 20% can be on to go - in the car, on a hike, at the park, etc.

This split allows you to have reliable naps at home but also enjoy your weekends.

What questions do you have about napping on the go?

The first 12 weeks of postpartum and your newborn’s life can feel like survival.

These are the 5 things I want you to know or do to make this challenging time a little bit easier:
1. Newborn sleep is chaotic
2. Frequent wake ups and feeds are normal
3. Stay optimistic
4. Choose a mantra or phrase to get yourself through the hard moments
5. Accept any and all help

Anything else you’d add?

Your sleepy newborn has left the conversation! By 3 months, your baby’s sleep is slightly more predictable.

You can count on them taking 4-5 naps per day. It’s normal for any contact naps to be much longer than if baby is set down.

One of the most exciting changes is that bedtime often moves a little earlier and total hours of nighttime sleep gradually increases.

It’s normal if your baby is waking 1-3 times to eat. If you have a unicorn baby who sleeps through the night, that’s wonderful but not the norm.

How many times is your baby waking up at this stage? Share so other parents know they’re not alone.

3 months old is the perfect age to start a simple bedtime routine. A bedtime routine helps your baby learn that every time these same steps are done, she will be transitioning to sleep shortly.

At this age, it’s normal and perfectly okay to feed or rock your baby to sleep. In the future if you decide to sleep train your baby, having a bedtime routine already in place is super helpful.

What age did you start a bedtime routine with your child?

Our little ones are tuned in to us. When we feel anxious, rushed, or uncertain, they can sense it, and it can make sleep training even harder.

Your job when sleep training or making changes around sleep?
Be a calm, steady, non-anxious presence.

✔️ Take a few deep breaths before bedtime.
✔️ Remind yourself that you’re offering love and teaching an important skill.
✔️ Hold confidence in the process - even when it feels tough.

Your child feels safe and secure not only from your actions, but also from the energy you bring. When you show up calm and consistent, they feel it too. 💕

🌙 Need help building a plan you feel confident in? That’s where I come in. Let’s work together to create a sleep plan that fits your family.
