“The moon does not fight. It attacks no one.
It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature, and its power is never diminished.”
~Ming-Dao Deng

Every year, I choose a personal theme—something that guides my decisions, mindset, and energy throughout the months ahead. It’s not a resolution... it’s a powerful intention that helps me stay focused no matter what life throws my way.

This year’s theme? Well, let’s just say it’s inspired by something as powerful and fluid as water.

Curious?😏

✨ If you’re wondering how to choose YOUR own theme for 2025 or want to know mine, check out the full post (link in comments)!

Do you set a theme or intentions and goals for your yeqr? Drop a comment and let me know how you stay intentional or if you’re ready to create your own!

Take a moment and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth….. Repeat this 3 times.

Tonight’s full moon in cancer is an emotional one. So if you’ve been feeling the heightened emotions and like situations have an exclamation point on them you’re not alone. Take time to breathe, meditate and ground yourself.

If there's one habit we should all establish it's regular breath work or pranayama. Setting aside just 2-5 minutes a day to consciously stop and connect with our breath can bring focus and calm. This breathing technique described is called Anulom Vilom, also known as Nadi Shodhana or Alternate Nostril Breathing. This is an ancient yogic technique that’s as effective as it is simple. This pranayama (breathing practice) involves alternating breath through each nostril, and it's been shown to support a variety of health benefits including stress relief, blood pressure reduction, sinus congestion relief and decreased anxiety.

Here’s how to do it:
1 Sit comfortably with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. 🧘‍♀️
2 Close your right nostril with your right thumb.
3 Inhale deeply through your left nostril. 🌬️
4 Close your left nostril with your right ring finger, and release your right nostril.
5 Exhale slowly through your right nostril.
6 Inhale deeply through your right nostril.
7 Close your right nostril and exhale slowly through the left nostril.
8 This completes one round. Repeat for 5-10 rounds, focusing on slow, steady breaths.

Our yoga practice truly begins when we step off our mat and face the real world. Incorporating these breathing techniques off the mat can be extremely beneficial. Doing this practice before a big meeting, before going in to a family gathering or even before a doctor's appointment can help lower anxious feelings and tap back into the present.

Start with 2-5 minutes a day to get the benefits of this ancient practice. It’s an easy resolution that can transform your daily routine and help you master your mind, body, and breath

“Don’t think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It’s quiet, but the roots down there are riotous.”

The stillness of winter is often a time of quiet growth, just like the energy of the Capricorn New Moon—a perfect moment to plant the seeds for the year ahead. 🌑🌙
Instead of rushing into New Year’s resolutions, I like to spend this time reflecting, grounding, and setting intentions that will grow with steady determination over time.
If you’re ready to dive deeper into how the Capricorn New Moon tap the link in my bio to read more on how to harness this powerful energy for the year ahead.
And drop your NYE plans in the comments below, I love to hear traditions and plans!

✨ "This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year's threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath, the door of a vanished house left ajar." — Margaret Atwood ✨

The Winter Solstice is a time to pause and reflect, standing at the threshold of darkness and light. It’s a moment where the year’s past and future meet — a time for introspection, letting go, and welcoming renewal.

How do you celebrate this quiet turning point in the year? Whether it’s through journaling, lighting a candle, or simply sitting in the quiet of nature, this day invites us to slow down and listen.

Last full moon of the year! Enjoy the beautiful sky this evening as we approach the darkest day of the year.
