This Saturday, August 29th, The Hive Tattoo is heading to WonderFest Kidchella at Sunset Hill Farm from 11 AM–4 PM! 🌈💖

Bre has an exclusive lineup of nostalgic Kidchella flash featuring some of your childhood favorites. Care Bears, Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, Furby, butterflies, strawberries, frogs, and so much more! 🍓🦋✨

And don’t worry we didn’t forget about the kiddos! We’ll also have temporary tattoos available for them. 💕

One of the biggest blessings of this journey has been that I don’t have to do it alone. I get to build The Hive alongside my husband and some of my very best friends. These are people who have believed in me, supported my crazy ideas, helped bring my vision to life, and stood beside me through all the highs and lows of building a business. Getting to work alongside the people I love makes this dream even more meaningful.

My dream has never been to own “just another tattoo shop.” I wanted to create a place where people feel comfortable the moment they walk in. A place without judgment. A place where you’re listened to, valued, and leave feeling more confident than when you arrived.

The Hive is built on faith, family, friendship, creativity, and community. Those aren’t just words they’re the foundation of everything we do.

As The Hive continues to grow, so does my vision. I want to create opportunities for other artists, continue growing our team, expand our mobile tattoo experiences, bring tattooing to more events and communities, and build something that our families can be proud of.

More than anything, I want The Hive to be a place where people feel like they belong.

A place built by people who love what they do, love the people they work with, and genuinely care about the people who walk through our doors.

Thank you for supporting my dream, supporting our team, trusting us with your stories, and allowing us to do what we love every single day.

Hey, I’m Hazel! 🤍📸

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind The Hive’s posts, reels, TikToks, photos, and all the behind-the-scenes chaos… hi, it’s me! 😂 I also manage Bre & Katie’s business pages. I’m The Hive’s content creator, photographer, professional hype girl, and usually the one running around with a camera or 3 phones in my hand making sure everything gets captured.

Outside of The Hive, I’m a wife to an amazing husband and a dog mom to two very spoiled pups who basically run our house. I’m also auntie to the two most amazing & sassy girls. 🩷

I’m also the owner of H.K. Photography, where I’ve spent the last five years photographing weddings, couples, families, seniors, and everything in between. Last October, I took the leap into photography full-time, and getting to turn something I love into my everyday job has been pretty freaking cool.

And because apparently one business wasn’t enough 😂 , I also own Olivia Hazel Homemade, where I make candles, jewelry, and other handmade seasonal goodies that you can find at the Marketplace inside Cup of Joy in DeMotte.

My story with The Hive actually started way before I was officially part of the team. I started out taking photos for Bre, and somewhere between photo sessions, tattoo appointments, and trading tattoos for pictures more times than I can count, we became friends.

And one of the best parts of meeting Bre was getting to know the people around her, too. Somehow I went from just being the girl taking pictures to becoming part of this slightly chaotic, incredibly creative little crew and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😊

Now I get to combine a bunch of the things I love: photography, content creation, events, and finding new ways to show off the talented people behind The Hive.

I’m excited to keep capturing all the chaos, and meeting more of you along the way. 🐝📸

Hi, I’m Maria🐝

I am a wife, mama of two, doula, functional medicine doctor, billing department for a property management company and I also handle scheduling here at The Hive. I enjoy reading, being outdoors and being with friends and family.
I helped Bre get The Hive going back in 2021 and had the privilege of watching it grow for four amazing years before taking a year away. I’m so grateful and excited to be back!
Bre and I have been friends since we were both pregnant with our now 5 year olds, and we’ve truly done life together ever since. We’ve raised our babies side by side, walked through life’s ups and downs, grown in our faith together, and cheered each other on through every season.
Then I met Katie after she got tattooed by Bre, and before long, the three of us became inseparable. Now we get to run a business together while raising our little ones alongside each other and I truly couldn’t ask for a more. I feel incredibly blessed to have such amazing women in my life. The friendships and community I’ve gained through The Hive are truly priceless
