As the temperatures rise, don’t forget to protect your little ones from harmful UV rays. Remember to:
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) for children 6 months and older
- Wear hats and sunglasses. Choose lightweight, protective clothing
- Stay hydrated
- Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 AM - 4 PM)
A little sun protection goes a long way in keeping your child healthy and safe all summer long.

Seeing your child have a febrile seizure can be frightening, but they are more common than many parents realize. Febrile seizures are triggered by a fever, most often in children between 6 months and 5 years of age. While they can look alarming, most febrile seizures are brief and do not cause long-term health problems.
If your child experiences a febrile seizure:
- Place them on their side on a safe surface
- Stay calm and watch the time
- Do not put anything in their mouth
- Seek medical attention, especially if it is their first seizure

Prevent bug bites before they happen!
• Dress kids in long sleeves, pants, socks, and closed-toe shoes when possible.
• Use an EPA-registered insect repellent (DEET) and follow label directions.
• Protect babies with mosquito netting over strollers and carriers.
• Check for ticks after outdoor play and remove any promptly.

Let’s talk about fetal cells and vaccines. 💉

A common question we hear is whether vaccines contain fetal cells.

The answer: No vaccines contain fetal cells. Some vaccines were developed or tested using laboratory cell lines that originated from two elective terminations performed in the 1960s. These cell lines have been replicated in laboratories for decades and are not the original fetal tissue.

Vaccines undergo extensive purification during manufacturing, and the final products do not contain fetal tissue.

If you have questions about vaccines, we’re here to provide evidence-based information so you can make informed decisions for your family.

Summer means more time outdoors and more chances for bug bites. Help keep your little ones protected by using child-safe insect repellent as directed, dressing them in lightweight long sleeves and pants when possible, avoiding areas with standing water, and checking for ticks after outdoor play. Most bug bites are harmless, but watch for signs of infection, severe swelling, or allergic reactions, and contact your pediatrician if you have concerns.
