A massage does not have to be deep to yield results.

Many of my clients have knots in their shoulders, neck and often times legs. The belief being the knots “need to go”.

Taught bands of muscle (aka knots) do need to be released in many cases HOWEVER relief can be done with fascia “loosening” as well.

Fascia is a magical material that helps adhere your skin to your muscles and other major organs.

Oftentimes the fascia can be so inflexible that it causes the knotting up or tightening of your muscle.

So, if you are a regular of deep tissue, I challenge you to give fascia massage a try.

Motivation is a curious thing.

Figuring out the “why” do I want to do this, can enlighten.
What is the goal or the outcome?
Who will be impressed when it’s done?

And for me, the celebration after doing the thing is the most important.

Because somewhere down the line, I forgot to recognize my accomplishments and take the time to praise myself for what I’ve done.

And sometimes, it’s as simple as doing a dance up the driveway when I’ve taken out the trash.

I am not a bodyworker you would find in a spa.

I fully engage with clients before each session; asking questions and noticing mannerisms. I get really curious about what a client needs physically and energetically.

Post session I ask for feedback and share my “findings” both physically and energetically.

So when my clientele begins to change, I am intrigued.

More men and healers.

The healers I understand, but the big, burly, strong men 🧐

I am hoping this is sign that men are opening up to more than their physicality. Fingers crossed.

Self care is great but what about your quality of life...
beyond the manicure, deep breaths and meditation?

How are your
thoughts
actions
and presence?

If you are unable to be and feel good about yourself,
self care is like trying to boil the ocean.

Self care begins with finding your peace and balance every day, in every thing.

The discussion of hydration comes up with every one of my clients because of it's importance after a massage.

A massage, even the gentlest, moves fluid from soft tissues into your lymph and venous systems. Without drinking water post-massage, dehydration can follow.

If you elect not to drink water post-massage, it can lead to feelings of nausea and discomfort.

Drinking water after a massage helps your body recover faster, reduces soreness and helps your body get more out of a session.

AND if the water intake does not help, soak your body or feet in water with a handful or two of epsom salt (magnesium sulfate).
This helps your body break down and dispose of harmful elements stirred up by a massage.

Stay hydrated!!!

Find your joy.
Take life slow.
Accept yourself.
Care, to a point.
Make a decision.
Don’t follow.

Listen to your body.
Hear your heart.

Rest and eat the snack.
