💙 Planning Ahead Is One of the Greatest Gifts You Can Give Your Loved Ones.
In our rural communities, conversations about aging, caregiving, and preparing for the future are often overlooked until a crisis happens. Through our work with families, we see firsthand how much confusion and uncertainty can exist around the aging process, available resources, and the importance of having essential legal documents in place.
That’s why events like the POA Party, hosted by the Barron County Caregiver Coalition, are so incredibly important! 💙
Our coalition partners dedicate countless hours of planning, preparation, education, and collaboration to bring valuable resources directly to the people in our communities. We do this because we believe families deserve access to the knowledge, support, and tools they need to make informed decisions before they find themselves navigating an unexpected health crisis or difficult life transition.
✨ The best part? This event is completely FREE and open to adults ages 18 and older!
Join us for an afternoon of education and one-on-one assistance with preparing essential documents, including:
✔️ Power of Attorney for Healthcare
✔️ Power of Attorney for Finances
✔️ Living Will
✔️ Final Disposition
Attorney Brittany Stephens will also present educational sessions at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with notary services and witnesses available onsite.
📍 Rice Lake Senior Center
12 W. Humbird Street, Rice Lake
📅 Thursday, October 22, 2026
⏰ 2:00–6:00 p.m.
Please don't wait until you or someone you love is facing a medical emergency to have these conversations. Advance care planning isn't just for older adults. Every adult age 18 and older should consider having an advance directive in place so their wishes are known and the people they trust can help make decisions if they are ever unable to speak for themselves.
Taking the time to prepare today can prevent confusion, reduce stress, and give your loved ones peace of mind when they need it most.
As a proud member of the Barron County Caregiver Coalition, Cornerstone Caregiving is incredibly grateful to be part of a group of organizations that care deeply about our communities and work together to make education and resources more accessible to everyone.
💙 Let's keep having these conversations. Let's keep educating our communities. And let's help families feel more prepared, supported, and confident about the future.
Please share this post with your friends, family, and anyone who could benefit from this FREE opportunity! You never know who might need it.
