The data provided by the BodPod is excellent for tracking data, but the difference it makes in how clients begin to interpret that data is amazing.

For years, egg whites were seen as the better choice for muscle growth and managing calorie and fat intake because they're high in protein, while yolks contain fat and cholesterol.

However, recent studies complicate this.

A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that those who ate whole eggs after resistance training had greater muscle protein synthesis (the process of repairing and building muscle) than those who ate only egg whites, even though both groups consumed the same amount of protein.

The yolk seems to be the reason. It contains nutrients like phospholipids, fat-soluble vitamins, and bioactive compounds that may boost how muscle cells respond after exercise.

While egg whites are still a good protein source, the yolk may enhance muscle recovery and adaptation.

This research suggests that for women focused on strength and muscle, the yolk isn't just extra fat; it helps the body use protein after training. Sometimes, it's better to appreciate how nutrients work together in their whole form.
