Juneteenth invites us to remember that freedom is not only a moment in history, but an ongoing call to live with courage, dignity and purpose.

Today, we honor the brave women and men whose quiet strength, truth-telling and faithful action carried history forward. Their legacy invites us to keep listening, keep serving and keep choosing courage and compassion.

May this day strengthen our resolve to keep serving, to keep listening and to keep leaning into care with hope and dignity.

Meet Julie Pink, a registered nurse in our Birth Center.

This week she is celebrating 25 years of service. When asked what advice she would give to those just starting their healthcare careers, Julie shared:

“The advice I would give to someone new to healthcare is to always treat your patients as you would want someone to treat your family member. It’s humbling being a patient. Being knowledgeable and showing kindness and compassion are the foundation of trust with our patients and families.”

Thank you, Julie! ❤️

If you’ve welcomed a baby at Kadlec over the past 35 years, there’s a good chance you’ve met Kris Humphrey. As a registered nurse in our Birth Center, Kris has spent more than three decades caring for patients and supporting families through some of life’s most meaningful moments.

Reflecting on her time at Kadlec, Kris shared “I’ve learned so much and met many incredible people. Together, we’ve shared long days, challenging moments, a lot of changes and a whole lot of laughter and I would do it all over again.”

When not at work, she enjoys gardening, cooking with her husband, spending time at her cabin and spending time with her family.

Please join us in thanking and congratulating her! 🎉

Kadlec Regional Medical Center received a Greenhealth Champion Award.

Practice Greenhealth is a leading nationwide organization for sustainable health care. Its program recognizes hospitals and health systems that have gone above and beyond in areas of sustainability and energy reduction.

Kadlec is one of 33 award recipients across the Providence family of organizations. Providence received Practice Greenhealth’s Top Health System Award, the organization’s highest honor, and one of only two awarded in the nation.

🌎Why this matters🌎
Environmental stewardship is part of how we deliver safe, reliable, high-quality care. When we reduce waste, improve energy use, and limit harmful chemicals, we help:
• Create healthier spaces for patients and caregivers
• Strengthen reliability during times of change
• Protect the communities we serve today and for future generations

Thank you to all of our caregivers for their commitment to making Kadlec more sustainable. 💚
