This was so thoughtful! We enjoyed having our friends from LeadingAge Virginia at the first of what will be many small gatherings of friends of the Center as we commemorate our 50th! LeadingAge's recognition and citation were such a thoughtful surprise. We also were moved by the stories several guests spontaneously shared about their experiences with the Center! It was a GREAT start to our 51st year!

It’s been a little while, but we’re excited to share another meaningful Miles & Smiles visit!

Recently, we joined Circle Center Adult Day Services to celebrate their incredible 50th Anniversary event: “50 Years Strong: A Night of Reflection and Possibility.”

LeadingAge Virginia was honored to present Circle Center with a special award recognizing 50 years of outstanding service, compassion, and dedication to older adults, caregivers, and the community.

Congratulations to the Circle Center team on this remarkable milestone and thank you for the impact you continue to make every day! 💚

It seems only fitting, as we launch our 50th Anniversary Commemoration, that members of our founding churches came and played Anniversary Bingo with our participants! A truly fun time was had by all! If you didn't know, 50 years ago, we were born out of a shared desire among 5 neighboring churches to help older adults and caregivers in their community. On May 1, 1976, those 5 churches opened the doors to Stuart Circle Center with 2 staff and 5 participants. Today, we serve 115 participants with a staff of 35!

Those wonderful neighboring churches who founded Circle Center are: First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richmond Va Cathedral of the Sacred Heart , St James's Episcopal Church, St. John's United Church of Christ and Grace Covenant. We, and we believe this community as a whole, owes them a debt of gratitude.

What a way to kick off the week! A parishioner from Cathedral of the Sacred Heart just dropped off so, so many program supplies that the Cathedral has been collecting for us during the month of April. What you see isn’t even all of it! Our closets are filled with items galore and our hearts full of gratitude. THANK YOU to all who gave!

We've been a little quiet on social media lately but not so within our four walls! 🎶Last week, the orchestra from Albert Hill Middle School played a concert for us. They were AMAZING! 🎤Later in the week, Abundant Days came back for all kinds of musical fun, too. Our adult day program is rich with music therapy which is good for the body, mind, and soul.

😎Another wonderful day out in the community! Our team was at St. Matts RVA with a room full of kindhearted Joy Circles volunteers. Over 2.5 hours, this group learned and practiced dementia-friendly skills. 💜 If you haven't heard, Joy Circles are a collaboration between Circle Center and faith-based organizations to support families facing an early stage dementia diagnosis.
