Caregiving is one of the hardest things any of us will do. Support groups can make all the difference.

Caring for someone with Parkinson’s comes with unique challenges, and no one should have to navigate them alone. Our Care Partner Support Group offers a welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and find support from others who understand.

📅 Saturday, October 10 | 11 AM–12 PM
📍 Circle Center Adult Day Services

A quick note: To maintain an open and supportive environment, this meeting is reserved for care partners. If you’re unable to leave your loved one at home, a separate space will be available for individuals with Parkinson’s to safely wait during the meeting.

*Group now meets on the second Saturday of each month!*

JFS Richmond was proud to participate in a dementia educational program at Richmond's First Baptist Church, where more than 25 individuals, including caregivers, gathered to learn about resources available in the community for those experiencing cognitive concerns.

We were grateful to connect with individuals and families seeking information and support. Pictured is JFS Chief Administrative Officer Robin Abbott alongside Ellen Thornhill of Circle Center Adult Day Services and Eris Bill of the VA Medical Center.

What a Sunday we had! It was Grandparents Day and The Leviticus Church invited us to nominate a grandparent in the Circle Center family to be honored. We nominated Roseann, a grandmother of 3 and caregiver to her husband who attends our Center. Roseann is so deserving of this recognition, both as the wonderful grandmother that she is, but also for her tireless devotion to caring for her family. Thank you to Roseann and the many other grandparents for the lessons you teach us and the example you set.

Even though it's 89 degrees outside, it's starting to look like fall around the Center! We say bring on the s'mores, campfires, leaves, and that wonderful fall smell! We won't laugh if you're pulling out your cozy sweaters already. Here's to fall, y'all!

☀What a morning! 20 of the hardest working volunteers from Dominion Energy came to the Center and got BUSY! Ten tackled the outside, working in unbearable heat 🔥 and freshened our curb appeal. 🌸The team inside assembled 60 RENEW Kits--string bags for care partners filled with activities chosen expressly for their loved one to enjoy at home. 🏠We thank Grace & Holy Trinity Church, Richmond VA for the generous grant to create these much needed and much appreciated RENEW Kits. And a big thank you to the HR and legal associates from Dominion--you ROCKED it!
