✨Tuesday Tip✨

Looking for a simple way to start your day off on the right foot?

Incorporate stretching into your morning routine🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

Not only can stretching help increase flexibility and range of motion, but it can also help reduce muscle tension and improve circulation.

Those minutes it takes to stretch can set a positive tone for the rest of your day.

Not to mention it can also help improve your posture, decrease your risk of injury, and even boost your mood (yes please!) And trust me, your body (and mind!) will thank you.

So why not give it a try?
🧘‍♀️Tell me if you prefer yoga, static stretches, or dynamic movements👇

I love that there is always new technology being developed to make life with diabetes easier to handle. If you aren’t using a CGM, maybe I could work with you to get one.

The FDA has cleared a next-generation integrated continuous glucose monitor for people with diabetes aged 4 years and older, according to a press release from Abbott. The FreeStyle Libre 3 is the CGM with the lowest overall mean absolute relative difference in glucose on the market, as well as the s...

It’s Diabetes awareness month...I wanted to share this article with some great ideas about how you can observe it. If you don’t have diabetes, I’m sure you know someone who does that you could share this with.

November is National Diabetes Month, and it’s a good a time to take a look at your diabetes management and evaluate how things are going.

Another successful day...I love helping patients get back in control of their Diabetes & their lives.

Today’s success story:
A1C 13.5% in March. Patient was deemed non-compliant by previous provider. We worked to find a solution that works for her, her work schedule and lifestyle, and gave her the tools she needs. Now A1C 8.2%. (But still improving). It’s a big picture approach and that’s not going to happen in a normal 15 minute office visit. Are you ready for a new approach?? Myself or the other providers would love to work with you.

Happy Monday!

As many of you know, I have recently switched roles as an NP. The time I’ve spent in primary care has been a blessing and I’ve loved getting to know my patients and their families. God, however, has other plans for me and has led me to focus my attention on the diabetic population. Moving offices and changing my focus has been a bittersweet but rewarding experience. I’ve learned SO much this past month working one on one with some of the most fragile and overlooked population.

1. A LOT more education needs to be done.
2. SO many are in poor control.
3. Patients are MORE than appreciative when someone gives that extra time to truly work one on one with them.
4. Patients need someone to listen to them.
5. MULTIPLE patients have been taking their meds & insulins incorrectly.
6. They need our help.

If you or someone you know is struggling with glucose control or want to discuss other options, I’d love to consult with you.

Symptoms of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) include fever, cough and shortness or breath. If you are experiencing these symptoms and think you may have the virus, call the Owensboro Health Coronavirus Hotline BEFORE going to a doctor. The hotline is open 24-hours a day and a triage nurse will tell you where to go and what to do.

✝️Merry Christmas everyone! ✝️

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” – Luke 2:10-14
