Diabetic neuropathy is a common symptom of poor diabetic management, and typically consists of numbness, tingling, or burning sensation that often begins in the hands and feet. Uncontrolled blood sugar levels contribute to damage the peripheral nerves which over time can lead to sensation loss. Because of this, you may have difficulty feeling the ground under your feet and it can significantly impact your balance. Physical therapy can be a great way to improve these balance issues through a variety of balance training exercises!
