Good evening, Everyone!
I just wanted to drop in and share what Assured Wellness has been up to.

Well, Assured Wellness was at it again!

Yes, we were "Raising Prediabetes & Diabetes Prevention Awareness" in the south suburbs.

Assured Wellness was honored to participate, as a vendor, at New Faith Baptist Church's Annual Seniors Summit.

Kudos to the many seniors who stopped by our table and took the I-minute Prediabetes Risk Test. It took courage to do it and they did. You can't change or fix what you don't know.

Kudos to Rev. Dr. Trunell D. Felder, Senior Pastor & the Seniors on the Move Ministry for a job well done!

I hope your morning was as AMAZING as mine!!!

Assured Wellness was at it again!

Yes, we were "Raising Prediabetes & Diabetes Prevention Awareness" at Bloom Township's Annual Senior Picnic!!

Assured Wellness was honored to participate, as a vendor, at Bloom Township's Annual Senior Picnic earlier today. I met some wonderful people there both seniors and vendors.

Kudos to the many seniors who stopped by our table and took the I-minute Prediabetes Risk Test. It took courage to do it and they did. You can't change or fix what you don't know. Now, they know their risk for prediabtes.

Kudos to Tracy L. Sylvester, Senior Activities Coordinator & her team. They did a
great job all around. A great time was had by all!

Coach Cindy here! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, in spite of the weather we have been experiencing across the country.

I have a quick update and and 3 reminders:

UPDATE: Due to a conflict in schedule, the FREE Monthly Prediabetes Check-In has been reschedule to August 27th instead of August 20th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM @ the DBC Offices, 4137 Sauk Trail, Richton Park, IL 60471. The fall schedule will soon be posted here later this month.

REMINDERS:
#1 Thursday, August 6th- 9:00-11:00 Assured Wellness will be a VENDOR from 9:00 Am-11 AM (Stop by our table).

Welcome to Wellness!

Happy Birthday, America!

Today we celebrate 250 years of being a country. Compared to some other countries, and by many standards, we are considered a young country.

As a young country, we have experienced many growing pains, and have come out on the other side stronger and more united than before. Unfortunately, there has always been a faction in this country that, I believe, does not want our country or democracy to succeed. We, the American people, have allowed this faction, that leads with hate and cruelty, to take hold of our country . We are so much better than that. AREN'T WE?

Ask yourself this question: Do you want your children or grandchildren to have less freedoms/rights than you had as a child?

As we celebrate, my heart is heavy. It is heavy because this country is being torn apart by bad people, and good people and/or people who know better are SILENT!

These words from Dr. King are sadly as relevant today as they were in the 1960s:

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. often spoke about the moral danger of inaction in the face of injustice. One of his most famous expressions of this idea is:
“History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”

For those good people who are silent, please read Ronald Reagan's farewell speech maybe it can inspire/motivate you to do the right thing. Please look it up and read or listen to it. You can find it on YouTube.

WE ARE AT A CROSSROADS IN THIS COUNTRY TODAY AS WE CELEBRATE ITS 250 BIRTHDAY! ONLY WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, CAN CHANGE THE DESTRUCTIVE DIRECTION/PATH THIS COUNTRY IS ON .

WHICH WAY WILL WE GO? ONLY WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, CAN DETERMINE THAT DIRECTION. TIME WILL TELL IF GOOD MEN REMAINED SILENT AND ALLOWED THE BAD MEN TO TAKE US DOWN THE WRONG PATH OR THEY STOOD UP AND SPOKE OUT!

Bringing Prediabetes & Diabetes Prevention Awareness to the Community!

Good morning Community,
As you may know, Assured Wellness is a CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program Provider. As part of that work, we partner with community-based organizations to bring awareness about prediabetes and diabetes prevention support to the community.

115 million U.S. adults are living with prediabetes and many don't know that they have it.

Monday, I was at the Rich Township Senior Services Center for a very informative, engaging, and fun Lunch & Learn. I met some wonderful seniors, and a great time was had by all. 😊

During the presentation, seniors had an opportunity to learn their own personal risk for prediabetes by taking the Prediabetes Risk Test. After the presentation, we enjoyed a light lunch and fellowshipped.

Special thanks to Rich Township Senior Services Director Mayme Buckley for giving Assured Wellness the opportunity to bring this important information to the community.
