NJ Senators, the need is urgent.
New Jersey’s intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) community is asking for your support by co-sponsoring Senate Budget Resolution #261, which includes a 3% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for community-based services in the FY27 budget.
WHY IT MATTERS:
🔹 More than 5,000 people remain on the residential waiting list, many with priority needs.
🔹 Thousands of individuals continue to live in nursing homes who could be supported in community settings.
🔹 More than 4,500 graduates enter the adult service system each year.
🔹 Providers have absorbed nearly a decade of rising costs and can no longer keep pace with inflation.
🔹 A 3% COLA helps sustain direct support professional wages, housing, transportation, and critical community programs.
We appreciate you seeing us.
We appreciate you hearing us.
Your vote makes a difference.
Please support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the community providers who serve them by co-sponsoring Senate Budget Resolution #261.
