You guys! Its been a hot minute since I've been on social media and I wanted wanted say thank you for being patient with me! I don't know why I thought starting a doula business with a busy 10 month old would be easy 😅 So thanks for sticking around!
Did you know?? You can see a Midwife or Certified Nurse Midwife as your primary care provider even if you've never been pregnant! I'm allll about cutting the crap and making people aware of their options here, and this is one that's a little bit lesser known!
A Midwife or CNM provides all the same well checks, tests, & procedures as an OB/Gyn with one exception: they do not perform surgery. If you have a condition or concern that is outside their area of expertise, a midwife would refer you to a specialist just like any other provider would.
Statistically, Midwives are able to spend a little more time in the room with their patients than a Family Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or OB/GYN. This can be great for a a lot of reasons, but my favorite is that it makes it possible for you to establish a relationship with them! We want you to feel comfortable asking questions and getting answers about your own Healthcare so you can make informed choices. 🙂
