Day 40/40 — Grateful for Beginnings. 🙏

40 days of gratitude.

When I started this challenge, I wasn’t sure what it would become.

I simply wanted to try something new, intentionally bring more gratitude into my life, and find the courage to put myself out there.

What started as a simple gratitude challenge gradually became something more.

An opportunity to reflect, share experiences, ask deeper questions, explore new perspectives, and connect with others.

Some days were personal. Others were philosophical. And some became invitations to explore the practices, experiences, and work I’ve been building through The Clear Path.

Along the way, I realized something I’ve been learning throughout my own journey:

We don’t always need to know where something is going before we begin.

Sometimes we just need to take the first step, stay open, and allow the experience to unfold.

The path reveals itself as we walk it.

I’m grateful for everyone who followed along, engaged, shared, or found something meaningful in these reflections. I hope something resonated.

And while this marks the end of the 40 days, it feels like another beginning.

I’m looking forward to continuing to share, explore, create, and discover what’s next.

What might you begin if you didn’t need to know exactly where it would lead?

A few years ago, my life got turned upside down.

I was laid off twice in one year. A relationship ended. My grandmother died.

I didn't have a map for what came next.

At the same time, I had a front-row seat to AI beginning to reshape the knowledge economy—and the work I had spent much of my life doing.

It forced me to confront a question I think more people are beginning to face:

What happens when the things we've connected our identity, value, and self-worth to begin to change?

Maybe you haven't lost the job.
Maybe you're just exhausted by it.
Maybe you've built the career, achieved what you were supposed to achieve, and quietly know you want something different.

The difficult part often isn't knowing.

It's doing something about what you know.

What I eventually learned was how to take the next step without having the entire map.

That's the thread I've been following ever since—and the space I now work in with others.

I wrote about what that journey taught me about knowing, doing, and learning to move when we can't yet see where the path leads.

Day 39/40 — Grateful for choice.

We go where we look.

I’ve been thinking about how much of our lives is shaped by where we choose to place our attention.

We can’t always choose what happens to us.

We can’t know exactly where the path will lead.

And we certainly can’t control every outcome.

But we can choose where we look.

What we give our attention to.
What we move toward.
What we say yes to.
What we decide to leave behind.
And the next step we’re willing to take.

Maybe our lives aren’t shaped by one giant choice, but by the small choices we keep making in a particular direction.

A choice becomes an action.
An action becomes a practice.
A practice becomes a way of living.

And eventually, we find ourselves somewhere new.

Today I’m grateful for the ability to choose — again and again — where I place my attention and the direction I want to move.

We go where we look.

Where are your choices taking you?

Day 37/40 — Grateful for expansion.

When I started this challenge, I wondered if I could find 40 different things to be grateful for.

What I’ve discovered is almost the opposite.

The more attention I’ve given to gratitude, the more there seems to be.

The people. The places. The challenges. The uncertainty. The conversations. The unexpected moments along the way.

My circumstances haven’t necessarily changed because of this practice.

But my perspective has.

And perhaps that’s one of the gifts of gratitude: it expands our capacity to notice what was already there.

What we give our attention to begins to expand.

What are you choosing to expand?

Day 36/40 — Grateful for not knowing.

When I made the decision to go to India, I had no idea it would eventually lead me to Costa Rica, Ananda Village, retreats, workshops, trainings, and the work I’m doing today.

I couldn’t see the path.

I only knew what was in front of me — and what I was beginning to recognize within myself.

Looking back, so much of the path has unfolded this way.

We want the answers first. We want to know where something is going, whether it will work, and what will happen if we say yes.

But most of the time, life doesn’t give us the whole map.

It gives us the next step.

And perhaps the practice is becoming clear enough internally that we don’t require certainty externally before we’re willing to take it.

You don’t have to see the whole path. You just have to trust the next step.

What next step already feels true for you?

Day 35/40 — Grateful for curiosity.

Yesterday, I was sharing something about myself when someone cut me off.

I noticed the reaction in my body almost immediately.

But instead of reacting, defending, or creating a story about what had happened, I became curious.

What was happening in me?

And what might be happening for the other person?

That small shift reminded me how much space curiosity can create between what happens and how we respond.

Space to listen.
Space to notice.
Space to receive what might already be unfolding.

Instead of moving through life bracing for impact, perhaps we can meet more of it with open eyes, a relaxed body, and an open heart.

What if you got curious instead of reactive?

Day 33/40 — Grateful for experiences.

Some of the most meaningful shifts in my life have come through experiences that took me outside of what was familiar — travel, retreats, new practices, new communities, and spaces to see myself and my life differently.

I’ve been fortunate to participate in experiences like these, and now to create and facilitate them for others.

Sometimes stepping outside our normal environment creates the space to listen differently, connect more deeply, and explore what might be next.

That’s what we’re creating in Montezuma, Costa Rica, March 10–15, 2027.

If you’ve been feeling the pull toward a retreat or a deeper experience, maybe this is your invitation.

DM me “COSTA RICA” and I’ll send you the details.

I’ve really enjoyed starting this podcast-style series, exploring everything from consciousness and AI to meditation, psychedelics, and integration.

A theme that emerged in a recent conversation with Eugene C. Santillano, MD, of Change Experts Academy was receptivity.

Do we need an altered state to become receptive to something new?

What if practices like meditation can help us cultivate that same capacity to listen, receive, and ultimately live differently?

Read the full reflection, watch our conversation, and join us live on October 17 ↓

On altered states, receptivity, and the practice of integration.

What if we could make both psychedelic therapy and integration more accessible through groups?

This question came out of my recent conversation with Coley Woodward, LMHC, founder of Coley Woodward Psyberspace Center for Psychedelic Therapy.

Coley is exploring this through GRIP, a group-based approach to ketamine-assisted therapy.

I’m exploring how breathwork, meditation, and ongoing practice can support what happens between and after sessions.

On October 24, we’re bringing these two sides of the conversation together.

We’ll explore group-based ketamine-assisted therapy, access to care, and the practice of integration — then move into guided breathwork and meditation to experience some of these tools together.
