We love when young people show interest in small business!!

Graduating junior, Lauren Collums, had an amazing opportunity to job shadow at Hollis Pharmacy in Ripley! Lauren was able to experience firsthand what a typical day in the pharmacy looks like and gain valuable insight into the responsibilities and skills needed to work in the pharmacy field.
Through this experience, Lauren had the opportunity to learn from pharmacy professionals, see the daily operations of the pharmacy, and explore the different aspects of a career in healthcare.
Job shadows like this give students the chance to connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world careers and help them make informed decisions about their future.
Thank you to Hollis Pharmacy for welcoming Lauren and providing her with such a wonderful and meaningful career experience!

Here is an excellent example of what pharmacists and techs do every day… this prescription came to us with these directions…. Now for those of you not familiar with diabetes, you have to know a scale to know how much insulin to use with each meal. This prescription says “sliding scale not known”… how are we supposed to explain to the patient how much insulin to use????
