After a full 31 days crews wrapped up the Modrite fire and returned home on Saturday to swap crews and head to Tonasket for the Sinlahekin fire. It’s been a busy fire season already. We wish everyone a safe rest of summer.

Today is a heavy and hard day across Washington. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these fires, and we send good thoughts to all the first responders out there fighting to get them under control.

Crews are still out on the Modrite fire and nearing their 14 day mark which means the next crews are packing up and preparing for deployment to give these guys a break! The fire has grown to 37,000 acres with only 27% containment.
