Here's a Tip for Your RTHS Teens: Resist the Urge to Rescue

WHY IT MATTERS:
Watching our students struggle can be uncomfortable, but solving every problem for them can take away opportunities to practice problem-solving. Small challenges today can help prepare students for bigger challenges tomorrow.

TRY THIS:
Before jumping in to fix a problem, ask: “What do you think you could try?” Give your teen a chance to come up with a solution first.

Sometimes helping our teens means giving them the opportunity to help themselves. Before solving it, try asking one question: What do you think you could try?

When someone you love is in an abusive relationship, you may feel scared, worried, frustrated, or unsure of what to do. You don’t have to navigate those feelings alone.

This group offers a safe, supportive space for family members and friends to learn more about domestic violence, share their experiences, better understand what their loved one may be facing, and discover healthy ways to offer support—while also taking care of themselves.
