🌙✨ Healthy Fasting During Lent & Ramadan ✨🌙
As we enter the seasons of Lent and Ramadan, many of our patients may be participating in fasting for spiritual reflection and renewal. At Jackson’s Health, we support your faith practices while helping you stay safe and healthy.
Here are some important health tips to consider:

Please speak with your primary care provider before fasting if you have:
Diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2)
High blood pressure
Heart disease
Kidney disease
History of eating disorders
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Take daily prescription medications
Medication timing and dosing may need adjustment.
đź’§ Hydration Is Key
When not fasting:
Drink plenty of water
Limit caffeine (can increase dehydration)
Avoid sugary drinks that cause blood sugar spikes
🥗 Balanced Meals Matter
When breaking your fast:
Start with water and small portions
Include lean protein, fiber, and healthy fats
Avoid large, heavy, high-sugar meals
Choose complex carbohydrates for sustained energy
🩸 Monitor Your Symptoms
Stop fasting and seek medical attention if you experience:
Dizziness or fainting
Confusion
Chest pain
Severe weakness
Blood sugar 300
Signs of dehydration
🙏 Grace & Flexibility
Many faith traditions allow exemptions for illness or medical necessity. Your health is important.
