Daystar Kids NY's only Pediatric Complex Care and Learning Center helping children learn, thrive and shine.

Daystar Kids' coordinated continuum of skilled pediatric nursing services, early intervention and preschool special services, and family support services position each child for success from the moment they’re discharged from the hospital and supports them all the way until they reach kindergarten. Daystar Kids' center-based, specialized early childhood programs provide equal access to a wide range of intensive interventions and therapeutic services designed to promote each child's health care, developmental and learning goals to help them learn, thrive and shine.

Last week, we attended the YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County’s 20th annual Empowering Women Luncheon, featuring guest speaker Venus Williams. This year’s theme, Serving Strength, Building Futures, highlighted the importance of supporting women and families in our community.

At Daystar Kids, we’re proud of the women who lead our organization and grateful for the women across every level of our team who bring compassion, dedication, and purpose to our mission. Each plays an important role in supporting the children and families we serve.

Daystar Kids will be closed on Monday, October 12th, in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

This day provides an opportunity to recognize and honor the history, cultures, contributions, and communities of Indigenous peoples.

We will reopen for regular programming on Tuesday, October 13th.

Something new is taking center stage at Daystar! 🎭

We’re excited to introduce our very first puppet show, the first of many we hope to bring to our kiddos. It’s a fun, engaging way to support Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) through storytelling, imagination, and play.

SEL helps children understand and communicate emotions, build relationships, work through challenges, and cope with big feelings.

Our therapy team works alongside teachers, nurses, families, and outside therapy providers to support each child’s individual developmental goals.

By integrating therapies like PT, OT, speech, and music therapy into each child’s routine, children have more opportunities to practice important skills while families have fewer outside appointments to manage.

It’s all part of our approach to bringing care, education, and therapy together to support each child’s growth.

Our nursing team provides skilled, individualized care throughout the day, working closely with families, teachers, and therapists to support each child’s health and well-being.

For parents considering Daystar Kids, our nursing support is an important part of the care we provide for children with complex medical needs.

If your child has experienced a hospitalization for a complex medical condition, requires ongoing care from a pediatric specialty, or uses a medical device such as a feeding tube, oxygen, tracheostomy, central line, or ostomy, your child may be eligible for our program.
