This is us—17 years in, still laughing, still learning, and still choosing each other. 💜

We don’t share our marriage because it’s perfect. We share it because we believe healthy love is something you continue to build—with grace, honest conversations, forgiveness, friendship, and intentionality.

Behind Counseling with the Collins are two people committed to practicing what we help other couples build: a marriage that continues growing through every season.

Keep choosing each other. The everyday moments you share are becoming part of your love story.

Marriage is strengthened through laughter, new experiences, and simply enjoying life together. 💜

And listen…the food was so good, we almost forgot we were supposed to be connecting! 😂 Amazing food, stellar customer service, and Black-owned—this Atlanta brunch spot was top-tier!

Keep dating your spouse. 💜

Being his wife means more to me than simply standing beside him.

I pray for him.
I cover him.
I encourage him.
I speak life over him.
I tell him the truth when he needs it.
And when life gets heavy, I want him to know I have his back.

Being his help meet means being a God-given partner who helps strengthen what God is building in and through him.

I don’t just want to enjoy the man he is.

I want to pray for, protect, encourage, and support the man God is calling him to become. 🤍

That’s partnership. That’s covenant.

One of the quickest ways to turn a misunderstanding into an argument?

Assuming you know your spouse’s motive.

“You did that because you don’t care.”

“You said that just to hurt me.”

“You knew that would make me mad.”

But here’s the problem: you can observe behavior without actually knowing the heart behind it.

Healthy communication replaces assumption with curiosity.

Instead of, “ I know why you did that…”

Try, “Help me understand what was happening for you in that moment.”

That one shift can change the entire conversation.

Your spouse needs to feel understood, not prosecuted. 🤍

💬 How often do assumptions create unnecessary conflict in relationships?

Marriage will always give you a list of things you wish your spouse would do differently.

But here’s the harder question:

Are you becoming the spouse you’re asking them to become?

More patient.
More accountable.
More emotionally available.
More forgiving.
More intentional.
More willing to listen.
More willing to grow.

A healthy marriage isn’t built by two people pointing at what the other needs to fix. It’s built when both people are willing to look in the mirror.

Before asking, “Why won’t they change?”

Ask, “Who am I becoming?”

That question can change a marriage. 🤍

💬 Send this to your spouse and talk about it together—not to point fingers, but to grow together.

Most couples don’t lose connection all at once.

It happens one distracted moment at a time.

One more email.

One more scroll.

One more notification.

Those moments seem small, but over time they can replace meaningful conversation.

Connection grows where attention goes.

Tonight, choose presence over your phone.

Your marriage is worth those few uninterrupted minutes. 🤍

Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that say,
“I love you.” 🤍

06/28/2026

One of the biggest marriage myths is that you need more time to stay connected.

You don’t.

You need more intention.

We were spending the day with our kids, but we still found little moments to laugh, talk, flirt, and simply enjoy each other.

Those moments matter.

Because connection isn’t built only on vacations or date nights.

It’s built in the middle of everyday life.

Never stop pursuing the person you promised forever.

06/23/2026

You’ve become great teammates…

The bills are paid.
The kids are taken care of.
The house is running.
The calendar is full.

But when was the last time you felt truly connected?

A lot of couples aren’t falling out of love.

They’re drifting.

Not because they don’t care…
but because life got busy and the relationship stopped getting the attention it needed.

💜 If this sounds familiar, don’t wait until you’re in crisis to invest in your marriage.

06/22/2026

Most couples wait until their marriage is in crisis before getting help.

By then, resentment has grown.
Communication has broken down.
And connection feels miles away.

The strongest couples don’t wait until they need saving.

They invest in their marriage before things fall apart.

💜 Don’t wait for a crisis to prioritize your relationship.
