Nikki and Lisa had the honor of participating in a powerful panel discussion with Dr. Ashanthi Gajaweera, Dr. Lesley James and moderator Stacey McQuade following the screening of the documentary at Rochester’s cultural gem . Perimenopause and menopause are not simply women’s health issues, they are entire cultural, familial and workplace issues that demand our attention! It was a great discussion and we look forward to screening The M Factor 2 which focuses on perimenopause and is now screening on PBS. We hope you get curious and check both films out !

Hi- I’m Lisa and here’s a bit of my story:)
A friend asked me recently how I got into coaching. She said, “It just fits you.”

I laughed, because it does. But it wasn’t magic. It was years of life training for this.

When I was 22, I moved to Chicago with two stuffed suitcases and a lot of nerve. I rode the Amtrak into a city where I knew almost no one. I had big dreams, a fast heartbeat, and the kind of confidence you only have when you don’t know what can go wrong yet!

I built my career in advertising and marketing. I worked hard and experienced Chicago, Philly and then Rochester. I learned how to solve problems, lead teams, and keep clients happy. I loved the energy. I loved the creativity. I even got to work on a campaign with Ray Charles. Yes, that Ray Charles.

From the outside, it looked exciting. And it was.
But there was another side to it.

The pressure was heavy. The stress was constant. The anxiety was loud. There were days it felt like the job was trying to swallow me whole. I knew I couldn’t keep living like that and call it “success.”

So I started looking for calm.
I found it in quiet mornings. In yoga. In meditation. In learning how to breathe again. Those practices didn’t just help me survive my career. They helped me come back to myself.

And as the years went on, I started to notice that no matter what job I had, the same things kept showing up.
🔸 I do my best work when I’m part of a team and great ideas are allowed to win.
🔸 I’m a mentor at heart. I keep relationships for a long time, because I truly care about my people.
🔸 I believe in growth. Mine and everyone around me

Eventually, I realized I was ready for my next chapter - something more human, more real, more meaningful.

That’s what what brought me to coaching and today I’m deeply passionate about helping women through the real physical and emotional challenges of perimenopause and menopause.
This time can feel confusing and lonely and my goal is give women tools that actually work. Tools that help them feel steady, strong and like themselves again!
I’m here to help you build a life that feels good to live in!

Sharing our client Kimberly’s recent experience (with her permission) - Thank you Kimberly for sharing - you are a strong and powerful woman!!

Here’s what Kimberly shared:
“I was gifted coaching sessions with , and I can’t recommend them enough. I met with Lisa, and she immediately helped me feel less alone, validated and gave me practical action steps.
Lisa suggested I schedule a “perimenopause appointment” with Dr. Paula Doyle and I was able to get in with her the following week, and I made the decision to start on hormone replacement therapy to help with my symptoms (estrogen patch and progesterone pills)
Things I’ve learned:
- Even if you’ve had a hysterectomy, you should still be meeting with a gynecologist. Despite numerous phone calls questioning this, my office continued to tell me, “I’m good” because I no longer have a uterus. og That’s actually insane, and if you’re in the same boat, schedule an appt with Dr. Doyle.
- Advocate to get your hormones checked to see where you are in the process (FSH levels checked)
- If you’re interested in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) ask your gynecologist
- Advocate for a DEXA scan (bone density scan) from your primary care physician
You are worthy of feeling better and understanding this journey and your body; we don’t have to suffer! I also struggle with memory and brain fog- do you have any idea how frustrating and lonely it feels to be a full-time employee and struggle with basic tasks?! If this is you - know that there is help. We don’t have to live like this!
I’m obviously not a doctor-I’m just a woman going through it. I asked for YEARS why my gynecologist wouldn’t meet with me. I’ve wondered HOW and WHAT to advocate for. I’ve felt alone with my symptoms and drained by not knowing where to turn. If this helps even one of my friends know where to go for actual help, I will see this as a win.”

Hi, I’m Nikki Blanding!
Ever feel like your health goals are too big and complicated to tackle?
I’ve been there and I built my entire career figuring out how to make health simple, achievable, and stick.

I started my journey learning the mechanics with a degree in Health and Exercise Physiology. I then spent years applying that knowledge hands-on as a Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor, teaching people how to move and strengthen their bodies.
But the real shift happened when I became a Board-Certified Health Coach. That’s where I truly learned to combine movement, nutrition, and mindset. I’ve since coached thousands of clients in vital areas like weight loss, diabetes prevention, gut health, and complex menopause management.

Here’s my philosophy as your coach:
I don’t prescribe a rigid plan for you to follow. Instead, I show up as your accountability partner and guide, helping you sort through the noise to find the unique path you want to follow.

My unique skillset is blending the science of physiology with the art of habit change. We can break down massive goals into the bite-sized, powerful steps you can actually sustain.

Today the FDA will finally remove black box warnings from hormone treatments for menopause!

The previous warning was based on outdated science and scared many women to not seek treatment.

Not any more !
