Tried out the new wellness spot in Sterling — ✨
I went in for dry needling after dealing with some pretty stubborn shoulder pain the last couple weeks, andthe relief afterward was amazing. The actual needles can definitely feel intense for a moment, but my shoulder mobility and tension improved almost immediately.
One thing I do want to mention though: I experienced a little “needle shock” during treatment. Some people can feel lightheaded, shaky, sweaty, nauseous, or just a little off after dry needling — especially if your nervous system is already stressed, sensitive, dehydrated, anxious, or in pain. My chiropractor helped me through it, and I felt much better shortly after.
That being said, I still wanted to share this experience because I know a lot of people struggle with chronic tightness and pain and may be curious about trying different modalities.
Velvaere has such a calming atmosphere already, and they offer things like contrast therapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and more. I love seeing spaces like this opening up locally (instead of slot machines, bars, and pizza places😜) because healing spaces like this are ESSENTIAL and recovery really can look different for everyone 🤍
Dry needling works by targeting trigger points and tight muscle tissue to help reduce pain, improve mobility, increase blood flow, and calm overactive muscles. It’s not always the most comfortable sensation while it’s happening, but for me, the results were worth it.
Always listen to your body, hydrate well afterward, and communicate with your practitioner during treatment ✨
