Exercise is Medicine

More than 2,000 years ago, Hippocrates is credited with saying, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” He also recognized something equally important: “Eating alone will not keep a man well; he must also take exercise.”

Today, science continues to support what he observed centuries ago.
No drug, supplement, or other health behavior can fully replicate the wide-ranging effects that regular physical activity has on the body. Exercise supports cardiovascular health, improves mood, strengthens muscles and bones, helps regulate blood sugar, enhances sleep, and promotes overall well-being.

Consistent movement is one of the most powerful ways to support the body's natural processes and functions. And yet we know that every "body" is different and the right approach should be individualized. One quiet sign many people miss is enmeshment.

Enmeshment can look like:
→ Feeling responsible for other people’s emotions
→ Struggling to say no without guilt
→ Losing yourself in relationships
→ Needing others to be okay so you can feel okay
→ Feeling anxious when someone is upset with you
→ Overexplaining, overhelping, overgiving

Your nervous system learned that being connected meant being safe.
Over time, this can lead to emotional exhaustion.

Emotional dysregulation doesn’t always look like big reactions.

Sometimes it looks like… nothing at all.

Many people swing between two exhausting states:
Numb ↔ Overwhelmed

These aren’t opposites.
They’re two sides of the same nervous system trying to protect you.

When overwhelm feels unsafe, the body learns to go numb.
When numbness can’t hold it anymore, overwhelm spills out.
