Our Spencer All-Stars had a great time touring the Spencer Fire Department yesterday!

Lt. Grimmius gave our group a wonderful tour and was so kind and engaging with our members. They had the chance to see inside one of the fire trucks, learn about the tools firefighters use, and check out the equipment they wear to stay safe while serving the community.

Lt. Grimmius also showed the group how the department cleans their equipment and hoses, the new boat they purchased after their previous one was damaged in the 2024 flood, and the ambulance they use to help provide support when hospital paramedics are out of town.

Thank you to Lt. Grimmius and Spencer Fire - Rescue for welcoming our group and giving them such a fun, hands-on learning experience!

Hope Haven staff recently attended the Plymouth County Mental Health Awareness Walk and Resource Fair in Le Mars!

It was a great opportunity to connect with other local providers, share more about the mental health services offered through Hope Haven, and be part of a community event focused on awareness, support, and connection.

We also wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Month with our final Mental Wellness Staff Retreat. Across all retreats, 50 staff members from different programs and departments participated in sessions focused on building mental wellness tools they can use both personally and professionally!

We’re so grateful for the chance to continue learning and supporting mental wellness within Hope Haven and throughout the communities we serve.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, our My Day and IPR groups across Hope Haven were challenged to create a Mind, Body, Community chain.

Each color in the chain represented a simple but meaningful way to support mental health, from staying active and spending time in the community to building connections with others. These everyday actions may seem small, but they can make a big difference!

We loved seeing the creativity, thoughtfulness, and participation from each program involved. Congratulations to Estherville My Day, this year’s drawing winner!

And a big thank you to everyone who participated and helped shine a light on the importance of mental health awareness. 💚

Hope Haven International Ministries was recently featured in The Banner for the work happening at our new Sioux Center wheelchair workshop!

Located on the campus of Whispers of Love, Hope & Joy, this workshop is helping increase production of our new tilt-in-space version of our KidChair, thanks to the faithful hands of local volunteers from Bethel CRC and New Life Church.

Like our other wheelchairs, each chair built in this workshop will eventually be shipped across the world and custom-fitted for someone in need, offering mobility, dignity, independence, and a tangible reminder of God’s love.

We’re so grateful for the support of everyone helping make this ministry possible. Read the full article below!
