Grandmother Oak

I smile upon the sapling, but I look with awe upon the old matriarch oak. The grandmother tree with her burls and branches sprawling spunky outward, knotted and knowing.
She never tried to remain a sapling. She grew free, wide, and wielding purpose, roots always reaching where they must go.
Growing relentlessly through manmade paths that crossed her: a street, a sidewalk, the plumbing. Nothing was ever
"in her way."
I smile upon the young, sprightly girl, but I look with awe at the crone: her presence and poise powerful as the Redwood. The wisdom she wears in her wrinkles. The map of a life-well lived on her face. The proof of how much love and reverence she's exchanged with the world by being very much in it. By always moving through it. In her eyes are one thousand lifetimes. Her roots deep, her wisdom apparent. The ever-extending beauty, creating a haven for all who rejoice beneath her.

Stone of the Day

Okenite

Type: Silicate. a hydrothermal mineral found lining the inside of cavities that protect okenite's delicat crystal fibres which resemble cotton-wool balls.
Colours: White or colourless.
Availability: Obtainable in specialist crystal stores and online.
Physical benefits: Thought to reduce fever, slow the ageing process and help with blood diseases, stomach problems including nervous stomach disorders and upper-body circulation, and to relieve the pain of acute strains or injuries, scalds, burns or inflammation.
Emotional healing: Self-forgiveness; heals the inner child and restores parts of ourselves others have taken from us; brings consolation in grief, loneliness or bewilderment.
Chakra: Crown.
Candle colour: White. Fragrances: Chamomile, frankincense, lily, lily of the valley, sandalwood, Practical uses: In the living area of the home, okenite softens harsh words or unintended hurt to a sensitive child or vulnerable adult, perhaps by an unthinking visitor. Workplace: Overcomes disappointments, failure to pass examinations or gain promotion; helps with projects that require both intellect and inspiration. Magical significance: Okenite brings intuitive access to the wisdom of the planets and constellations, if conventional astrology is not for you by channelling planetary archangels and angels of the zodiac. Divinatory meaning:
Listen to your dreams or meditations, the answer is within you to your new step. Zodiac: Sagittarius and Virgo.
Empowerment: I know what is best for myself and my family.

Called the crystal snowball, because it resembles fuzzy mini snowballs, this is an Earth Mother stone that forms the bridge between earthly and cosmic energies. Because okenite is so delicate, buy within its geode outer shell so you can hold it without risk of damage.
Cleanse okenite using the smoke of an incense
stick. Purifies and integrates the inner chakra energy system for self-healing: hold your geode in the hand you write with, passing it in spirals from your feet to the top of your head and down again.
An excellent stone if you suffer from interference from relatives who tell you how to
live or bring up your family.
Helps overcome the frustration of temporary or more permanent immobility or restrictions caused by a long illness.

Card of the Day

8
WUNJO

Pronunciation: Wor V
Ancient meaning: Joy
Variations of the name:
Old English - Wyn

Essence
The values that this rune brings with it are very ancient. The essences of Wunjo are joy, domestic harmony, family, and well-being. Wunjo represents the hearth as a base tor departing and the retuge to which one re-turs. The family is at the center, and this rune underlines the importance of having strong and faithful ties.
Message
Wunjo speaks to the importance of your roots. Your family is the first tie that you have with the world, and your love for them is the base of and the model for all your relationships. Wunjo represents a full life, lived with intensity and courage: being sure of yourself and feeling connected 10 all that you have around you. You can enjoy day-to-day life because your soul is calm and serene, and small things do not bother you.
Warning
Wunjo warns you not to block out negative experiences from the past.
You need to uncover these experiences to freely move forward in the pres-ent. Your roots should be a point of departure, not a burden that stops you from evolving into the person that you really are. Another warning given by Wunjo is to not solicit affection but to find joy within your own being.
If you face the present with a calm soul, without doubts or suspicions, love will arrive spontaneously in your life.
Questions
What kind of relationship do you have with your family?
Do you feel nostalgic for the past?
Do you cherish your memories?
Do you experience joy in your life?
How do you deal with your daily routine?
At times does it seem like you have never really grown up?
Do you feel that the time has come to start your own family?
Do you live the present intensely?

Do you get along with your friends?
What blocks your desires?
Talisman
Wunjo helps you have harmonious relationships with your family. It also protects couples by enhancing understanding and harmony, ensuring fi-delity, and clarifying ambiguous situations.
Visual Meditation
Wunjo contains the origin of joy. It is a rune with strong yet gentle energy, very feminine in its essence. It does not represent excess or intoxication, such as comes from infatuation. Rather, it is the foundation of stable and secure joy. Often it is about family and love. This familial love can take any form: between a man and a woman, between two men or two women, or even between a human being and a pet. Where there is Wunjo energy, there is love, there is joy, there is home. It is a force that is not confined to the present moment but allows one to pass through stormy difficulties.
Wunjo is self-empowering in its own simplicity, surpassingly strong but never abusive or aggressive.
Keywords
Positive: Joy, warmth, simplicity, abundance, sweetness, reciprocal help, solidarity, security, serenity, a sense of belonging Negative: Sadness, a sense of exclusion, isolation, arguments with people who are dear, a sense of being without roots

The First Poem I Wrote

The first poem I wrote sparked sunrays lighting my heart with magic and conviction
like a summer's full moon.
The poem called me to protect wildness.
Three decades later
On the day of the Buck Moon, Elen of Ways, Celtic Goddess with Antlers, appears on my walk, pulling me back to my creative path.
Next month brings the blue moon And a meaningful message:
There is a lot to protect here
the wild feminine, the fertile creativity and these full moons of ritual great magnetic forces of change.

Stone of the Day

Color of the Day: Black
Incense of the Day: Sage

Ulexite

Type: Hydrous sodium calcium borate.
Colours: White or colourless.
Availability: Common.
Physical benefits: Perceived as beneficial for eye problems, visual disturbances, wrinkles, headaches and difficulties with the nervous system, especially nerve endings, memory and concentration.
Emotional healing: Restores
imagination, originality and creativity if these gifts were taken from you in childhood by unsympathetic teachers or parents; the best crystal for helping people recover from and resist brainwashing by cults or over-rigid political or religious regimes.
Chakra: Third Eye.

Candle colour: White. Fragrances: Benzoin, cedar, chrysanthemum, fennel, peppermint. Practical uses: Set ulexite on top of contracts, documents and letters you receive to become aware of any implications you may miss on first reading. Workplace: If you are studying or are in a job where your intellect is pushed to the limits, ulexite clarifies complicated concepts and helps to assimilate technical information; good if you have to master unfamiliar skills or a new language fast. Magical significance: Because even thin ulexite magnifies anything under it, put ulexite on top of tiny silver charms or symbols, for example a silver key for buying or selling a house, to attract what you want into your life as you name it aloud. Divinatory meaning: Something that has been eluding you becomes suddenly clear and you will instantly know what to do. Zodiac: Gemini. Empowerment: My mind is open to receive messages and insights from the divine realm.

Ulexite is also known as TV rock or the television stone. This is because when ulexite is about two or three centimetres (one inch) thick and polished on both sides, the fibres in the crystal act like optical fibres and transmit an image from one side of the crystal to the other.
Try placing ulexite on top of a book or newspaper and the writing will appear on top of the crystal without any distortion. It is also a crystal that increases psychic vision and insight.
Place ulexite on your Third Eye or Brow chakra, above and between the eyes, to stimulate clairvoyance and telepathy; use in meditations that require clear imagery and visualization.
Write down what you recall of a dream when you wake and leave ulexite on the writing, so that the meaning of the dream will become clear when you next read it.

🖤 Happy Caturday! 🖤

Cats have a way of making themselves the center of whatever is happening.

Open a book, and they sit on it.
Start a project, and they inspect it.
Pour a cup of tea, and suddenly they are involved in the entire operation.

They move through life with complete confidence that every chair belongs to them, every sunbeam was placed exactly where they need it, and every human exists to provide admiration on demand.

Perhaps that is part of their charm.

Today I'm raising a cup of tea to all the beloved cats who supervise our homes, keep watch over our gardens, steal our seats, interrupt our work, and somehow make every day a little more interesting simply by being themselves.

Wishing you and your feline companions a wonderful Caturday.

🐾 Tell me about your cats. How many do you have, and what are their names?
