💔 Anybody who likes having local pharmacies, or any kind of locally owned and operated business should do everything we can to support these people. These are our neighbors, friends, and families. That could mean choosing to give them your business instead of the huge national retailer, even if it's a little more expensive or slightly less convenient. Tell your legislators to support measures that keep business practices fair for the little guys. Keep our $$$ in our own communities at every possible point.

“Dad, what happened to the pharmacy that used to sponsor our Little League team?”
It closed.
“Mom, what happened to the pharmacy that sponsored our softball league every year?”
It closed too.
“What happened to the pharmacy that donated backpacks to the school?”
Gone.
“What happened to the pharmacy that bought uniforms for the soccer team?”
Gone.
“What happened to the pharmacy that always helped families when they couldn’t afford their medication?”
Gone.
One by one, they’re disappearing.
The local pharmacy that sponsored our kids’ sports teams.
The pharmacy that donated to school fundraisers.
The pharmacy that knew your name when you walked through the door.
The pharmacy that paid local taxes, hired local employees, and reinvested money back into the community instead of sending it to a corporate headquarters five states away.
Gone.
Not because the community stopped supporting them.
Not because they stopped caring.
Not because they weren’t needed.
They were crushed by a system that made it harder and harder for independent pharmacies to survive.
We’ve watched this pattern repeat itself in towns all across America.
And every time a community pharmacy closes, a piece of that community disappears with it.
The scoreboard still stands.
The baseball field is still there.
The kids are still playing.
But the pharmacy whose name used to be on the sign is gone.
And once they’re gone, they rarely come back.
