Last year, we shared that one of our diplomates, Dr. Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas, alongside her colleague, Dr. Kiran Musunuru, successfully treated a patient with CPS1 deficiency with the world’s first custom gene-editing therapy at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

We are excited to share that Dr. Ahrens-Nicklas and Dr. Musunuru, have been named to TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 for this groundbreaking work.
