🚨💔🐾 BRUTUS NEEDS A FOSTER HOME TO HEAL 🐾💔🚨

Sometimes you look at a dog and wonder how they survived what they’ve been through… 😭💔

Brutus is one of those dogs.

This sweet little guy was found as a stray in tragic condition and brought to Midwest City Animal Welfare. His poor skin was raw and painful, and this precious boy desperately needed help. 💔🐶🥺

🙏❤️ Thankfully, our AMAZING friends at Memphis Street Animal Rescue - Oklahoma Paws stepped up and welcomed Brutus into their program! We cannot even begin to express how grateful we are that they said YES to him. ❤️‍🩹🐾

Brutus has been spending his days at the vet’s office while his skin begins to heal… but now he needs something medicine alone can’t provide:

🏡 A FOSTER HOME. 🏡

A soft bed. 🛏️
A quiet place to rest. 🥹
Gentle hands to remind him he is safe. 🤲❤️
And someone to love him while his little body continues to heal. 🐾💕

Brutus will eventually need entropion surgery on his lower eyelids once his skin is healthy enough. Until then, he just needs a safe place to land and a foster willing to walk beside him through this next chapter. ❤️‍🩹

A remarkable 2025 study found that invisible wavelengths within sunlight can pe*****te directly through the human chest. The strongest transmission occurred around 800 to 875 nanometers, within the near-infrared spectrum ~ a range our eyes cannot see, yet our cells appear capable of receiving.

Researchers then exposed participants’ backs to 850-nanometer light for just 15 minutes. When their vision was tested 24 hours later, color contrast sensitivity had measurably improved. The most fascinating result came from participants whose heads and eyes were completely shielded during exposure. Their visual performance still improved, suggesting that light absorbed through the body triggered a biological response that reached the eyes.

The leading explanation involves the mitochondria ~ the microscopic energy systems inside our cells. Red and near-infrared wavelengths can influence mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP production, effectively helping cells generate and manage energy more efficiently. The retina contains an extraordinary concentration of mitochondria, making vision an especially sensitive indicator of these metabolic changes.

This points toward something profound: the human body responds to light as an interconnected system. A wavelength entering through the back may influence the eyes through circulating chemical signals, altered cytokine activity, or another systemic pathway researchers are still working to understand. Light appears capable of delivering biological information far beyond the tissue it first touches.

The study was small, involving 40 participants across its different experiments, so larger trials are needed. Yet the findings add to a growing body of research showing that sunlight is far more than illumination or a source of vitamin D. It is a complex spectrum of biological energy under which human physiology evolved for millions of years.

The researchers also raised an important question about modern indoor life. Standard white LEDs contain very little near-infrared light compared with sunlight, firelight, and older incandescent bulbs. We have transformed the spectrum surrounding us without fully understanding what our cells may have lost in the exchange.
