Before the year gets busy again…

There is a little window this time of year that I think women feel, even if they don’t name it.

Summer is behind us.

The holidays haven’t completely taken over yet.

And for a moment, life feels a little quieter.

Then November comes.

Family plans.

Shopping.

Cooking.

Travel.

Everyone else’s schedules.

And suddenly another year is almost gone.

That’s one reason I like this part of autumn.

It creates a little space.

Not necessarily for a makeover.

Just for checking in with yourself.

Is there something you’ve been meaning to take care of?

Something that would make mornings easier?

Something you’ve been thinking about for months but haven’t had the mental room to explore?

You don’t have to decide today.

But this can be a lovely time to start the conversation.

A consultation gives us time to look at your skin, your existing pigment, your goals and whether permanent makeup actually makes sense for you.

Sometimes giving yourself attention starts before the appointment ever happens.

A little color. Still your lips. 💗

These are real, fully healed Lip Blush results on real Synergy Ink clients.

Different lips. Different skin. Different natural lip colors. And that’s exactly why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to permanent makeup.

For me, beautiful Lip Blush isn’t about giving everyone the same shade of pink.

It’s about bringing a little life back to your natural lip color, creating soft definition, and enhancing what’s already yours.

Sometimes that means the most subtle hint of color. Other times, a little more presence.

The goal is always the same: results that feel like you.

Every treatment at Synergy Ink begins with a consultation so we can talk about your skin, your natural coloring, and what’s realistic for you.

This is what healed looks like.

Real clients. Real healed powder brows. No filters or freshly tattooed results.

Not every brow should look the same. Different faces, different features, different skin—and a thoughtful approach to each one.

For me, beautiful permanent makeup isn’t about creating the most dramatic transformation. It’s about creating brows that make sense for the person wearing them.

That’s why every Synergy Ink appointment begins with a consultation.

One of the easiest ways to overdo permanent makeup is to start believing every concern needs a bigger solution.

Sometimes it doesn’t.

A brow may not need to be darker.

It may just need a little more balance.

A lip may not need a dramatic new color.

It may simply need some of its natural tone restored.

A previous result may not need to be completely redone.

It may need time.

Or lightening.

Or nothing at all.

I think good beauty decisions often come from asking a different question.

Not:

What else can we do?

But:

What is actually needed?

Those are two very different things.

And especially with permanent makeup, the second question usually leads to a result that ages much more gracefully.

Subtle doesn’t mean insignificant.

Sometimes the smallest change is the one you appreciate the longest.

Most women who sit across from me aren’t asking to become someone different.

They usually say something much simpler.

“I just want my brows back.”

“I want my lips to have a little more color again.”

“I want to look more like myself without working so hard at it.”

And I think that distinction matters.

Permanent makeup doesn’t have to reinvent your face.

In fact, I don’t think it should.

My job is usually much quieter than that.

Restore a little definition.

Bring back some balance.

Replace what time has softened without erasing everything time has given you.

At this stage of life, beauty can become less about transformation and more about recognition.

You look in the mirror and think:

There I am.

That’s the kind of result I’m always working toward.

The right questions to ask before booking.

If you’re interviewing artists, ask:

• Can I see healed work?
• How do you approach mature skin?
• What happens if I need correction later?
• What if my old work needs lightening?
• How do you decide when not to tattoo?

Those answers tell you more than a before-and-after ever will.

If you’d like honest guidance about your own brows, I’d be happy to help.

I’m not designing your brows for today.

Fresh permanent makeup gets a lot of attention online.

I understand why.

It’s dramatic.

It’s satisfying.

It photographs beautifully.

But fresh isn’t the result I’m most interested in.

Healed is.

And even beyond that, I’m thinking about what happens after another year.

And another touch-up.

And another.

Because every time pigment goes into the skin, we’re making a decision your future artist will have to work with.

Sometimes that future artist is me.

That’s why I would rather leave a little room than give you too much.

I’d rather tell you to wait than automatically add more.

And I’d rather have you come back years from now with beautifully faded brows than brows we have nowhere left to go with.

The goal was never to see how long we could keep adding pigment.

The goal is to let your permanent makeup age well with you.

Good permanent makeup shouldn’t be the first thing you notice.

When someone looks at you, I don’t want them thinking:

“Those are tattooed brows.”

I want them thinking you look rested.

Polished.

Maybe a little more put together even when you haven’t done anything.

And ideally, they can’t quite figure out why.

That’s my version of successful permanent makeup.

Not perfectly stamped brows.

Not the darkest possible color.

Not something that looks impressive only in a freshly tattooed photo.

Just enough definition to support the features that are already there.

Enhance. Don’t overpower.

That’s the whole idea.

Hi everyone!

I’m reaching out with a little favor to ask!

Nominations are now open for the Bohemian’s Best of the North Bay 2027, and I’d be so honored if you would consider nominating me!

Surprisingly, there’s no category specifically for permanent makeup artists, so I’m hoping to be considered in the Best Eyelash or Eyebrow Stylist category under Health & Beauty.

There are so many incredibly talented lash and brow artists here in Sonoma County, and I know the competition will be stiff! But I’d love the opportunity to represent the permanent makeup side of our beauty community.

If you’ve enjoyed your experience with me at Synergy Ink and feel my work is deserving, I would be so grateful for your nomination. ❤️

Here’s how to nominate me:

1. Visit the Bohemian’s Best of the North Bay – Health & Beauty ballot.
2. Find the Best Eyelash or Eyebrow Stylist category.
3. Write in Synergy Ink PMU (Toni Chase) as your nominee.

Nominations are open through November 8, and those receiving the most nominations will move on to the final voting round in December.

Whether you nominate me or not, please know how much I appreciate your continued trust and support. I’m so fortunate to have a business filled with wonderful clients who allow me to do what I love every day.

Thank you for being part of it!
