It's been a bitter week getting started without Dr. David. Thank you to everyone who has shared your support, stories, and tears with us as we do our best to carry his torch. Here are some meaningful moments of him with Dr. Mylhan.

We are so thankful to the over 500 patients who registered with us in the first 3 days. To expand our capacity, we have opened up more self-scheduling slots into August through the Athena portal. You can register as a patient and schedule here:

Remember we are not yet in network with all insurances, including Medicaid, Tricare, and Humana, which are still process.

We currently accept: AETNA, Anthem aka Blue Cross/Blue Shield commercial, ChampVA, CIGNA, Consociate, Medicare, United Healthcare commercial & United Medicare Advantage, and of course cash pay.

We were thrilled to be visited by our friend and colleague, the great spirit Dr. Stephanie Huhn of RoMo Direct Primary Care! Dr. Huhn is a veteran of the US Navy like Dr. Mylhan, and a Kirksville-trained osteopathic physician like all the Dr. Myers's. Meaningfully, she volunteered to help us when Dr. David passed away. While we have been working to pick up the pieces, Dr. Huhn helped fill the gap for struggling patients. If you are looking for an alternative cash model in healthcare, look no further than RoMo Direct Primary Care. We appreciate Dr. Huhn's guts for pioneering this model in Phelps County. Thank you Dr. Huhn for your outstanding, selfless work in the Ozarks!

Mary Meda Myers, mother of Dr. David, returned home to her Lord and Savior yesterday evening. She was just a few days shy of 92.

Daughter of Hermie Lee and Ethelyn (Brookshire) Robinson, she was a 6th-generation Phelps Countian born at her family home in Newburg in 1934. Despite living through many hardships and heartbreaks, she raised 4 uniquely impactful children: Dr. William David, Dr. Mary Beth, Bradley Jack, and James Andrew Myers. She was very close with her many grandchildren- in total, she departed this world with almost two dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Guided by her faith, Mary was a lifelong community servant. Many stories as far back as the earliest days of our Licking clinic are told of her making her own home, at any hour of day or night, a place of comfort to patients and their families. Even into her 80s, she was freely babysitting a newborn and toddler who were in-between foster care. What a life of service! May we all continue to carry her legacy of compassion for our neighbors in the Ozarks.

Please join us in prayer and condolences for the Myers family. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to a local foundation or non-profit is appreciated.

We’re so thankful to the Yelton and Maedgen families!

They came by this week to help us trial run our new electronic medical record and, being a healthcare family themselves, teach us a few things!

Grandfather Richard Yelton was delivered by his namesake, the beloved late Dr. Richard Myers.
Mr. Yelton’s grandsons were delivered by our very own Dr. Mylhan Myers. There have been many stories and meaningful moments in between with these families, who have been with one Dr. Myers or another from the very beginning.

We are honored to see a third generation of truly family medicine continue in beautiful poetry. Thank you!
