Georgia’s temporary motor fuel tax suspension is scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. tonight, June 2, 2026. Governor Brian Kemp has declined further extensions, meaning prices are expected to rise by approximately 33 cents per gallon starting tomorrow.

The Rome Emperors (High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) are scheduled to play the Greenville Drive tonight, Tuesday, June 2 at 6:45 PM EDT.

The Cartersville Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.. The 2026 season runs from May 2nd through September.For the 2026 season, the market has moved to a new temporary location at the Tabernacle Parking Lot at 31 Douglas St, Cartersville, GA 30120.

And y’all... the Covid Babies are officially heading to Kindergarten. The generation born in lockdowns and sourdough starters is entering elementary school. Parents, brace yourselves. Teachers, we are praying for you.
Beau, you make me prouder than words can describe. Watching you grow, learn, and bring so much energy into the world is the greatest joy of my life. Keep shining big, buddy. Next stop, big kid school!

Breaking news: The election results are in... and Rome, you’re looking a little stiff. 🏛️📈

Look, I’ve seen the numbers from last night. Everyone’s talking about the “results,” but we’re still ignoring the real local crisis: movement traffic, high grocery prices, and the fact that we’re still waiting on a Target. If I’m elected the official Sports Chiropractor of Rome, I promise to tackle the pain points that actually matter—starting with your neck and back after sitting in that traffic.
