The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County proudly hosted our First Annual Cars for a Cause Car Show on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Cradle of Aviation Museum parking lot. From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the event brought together an incredible display of vehicles spanning all eras and styles, including a selection of iconic movie cars.
We extend our sincere thanks to the many passionate car owners who participated and shared their outstanding vehicles with our community. Your enthusiasm and support helped make the day truly special.
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised just over $9,000 in support of our agency, a tremendous success for our first year. This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, including A-Carr Auto Repair & Tires, Empire Muscle Cars, Greater New York Region of the AACA, Merrill Lynch, and Priority Pension Services.
The event also featured exciting appearances from Star Wars characters courtesy of the 501st Legion: Empire City Garrison, the Rebel Legion’s Echo Base, and the Saber Guild’s Endor Temple. Guests also enjoyed meeting our special guest wrestlers, Kaos and Dysorder, who posed for photos and signed autographs. Mcheretic Cosplay who brought some Transformers characters to life! A-Carr Auto Repair & Tires provided attendees with hats and t-shirts, while Monster Energy kept everyone refreshed throughout the day.
Empire Muscle Cars went above and beyond in helping to organize the event, assisting with vehicle load-in and supporting us wherever needed. We are especially grateful to their president and founder, Victor Doto, whose support, guidance, and dedication were invaluable. The Greater New York Region – AACA not only sponsored our awards but also provided their expertise to oversee judging. Special thanks to Steve Wepp for coordinating volunteers who conducted judging and tallied scores with precision.
We are incredibly grateful to all our volunteers including Alex, Terry, Chris, Sara, Diane and Antonio, who dedicated their time and energy to ensure the event ran smoothly. From setup and registration to raffles, Wonka Bar sales, and breakdown, their efforts were invaluable. A special thank you to Chyvonne from CP Nassau, who managed the raffle table throughout the day and helped keep everything organized.
Finally, we would like to thank the Cradle of Aviation Museum for hosting us in front of their outstanding facility, as well as the Firefighter Museum for their cooperation in accommodating our rain date. The partnership worked so well that we look forward to returning next year and we hope you will join us again for an even bigger and better event.
