Juneteenth honors something that shouldโve never had to be fought for in the first place: freedom. Itโs a day to hold the resilience of the Black community, the people who pushed and refused to back down for equality, and the richness of what they have built โ even in the face of having everything intentionally stacked against them.โฃ

Freedom that was won deserves to be celebrated, and freedom thatโs still being built deserves to be tended to. Juneteenth carries the weight of everyone who came before โ the ones who survived what should have never happened, and the ones who kept pushing long after the news of freedom finally arrived. Their legacy isnโt something to just look back on. Itโs something still being built on, one step at a time.โฃ

Honoring this history means honoring the truth of it fully โ the joy and the unfinished work, both at once. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฎ ๐
