Q: Why are there “creepy” masks on the wall in the dojo?….. A: One Tengu mask and one Hannya/Oni mask, both coming from Japanese culture. They each have their own meanings and carry particular feelings. But both are said to help ward off evil spirits or bad energy. Representing complex human emotions and supernatural forces. 👺
