This week we welcomed another sweet baby BOY to our family!šŸ©µ We are all in love and just absolutely doting over him! Iā€™m so thankful for all of the love and support weā€™ve been receiving, from the kindest messages and well wishes, to flowers and meals. It truly means so much! Iā€™m reminded how impactful even the smallest gestures are when youā€™re in the postpartum period. Sending so much love to you all!

Babies benefit from a balance of purposeful, interactive play along with unstructured ā€œindependentā€ play. AKA, itā€™s ok to let you baby play on a blanket or play mat on the floor while you sit to eat some lunchā€¦or get yourself ready for the dayā€¦or accomplish a which task nearby (while supervising them, of course!). This time allowed to be bored often sparks purposeful movement that nurtures developmental skills.

The floor or a contained firm, flat surface is preferred over a device such as a swing or reclined bouncer. The floor offers significantly more freedom to move.

If your baby is getting upset, itā€™s time for a break. Play time is always best when baby is in a calm, alert, ā€œready to playā€ state.
