I’m going to start posting about Everyday Miracles… they are all around us and a great reminder to help us focus on even the smallest moments of love and kindness.
This is my mom. She was terrified about holding this little critter (Coconut the guinea). She literally screamed (my mom, not the guinea).
Five minutes later she was happily feeding Coco lettuce. 🥬
Ten minutes later, my mom said, “look how much she likes it when I pet her like this.” Coco now had her own personal masseuse.
I love this photo because it shares this little moment of love and joy. It doesn’t take much.
My physician self couldn’t help but marvel at the oxytocin flow (one of the love and connection hormones) that was released by such a small act.
Oxytocin deepens bonding, decreases stress hormones, reduces stress and anxiety, improved mood and happiness, and boosts physical and mental resilience.
I might have to get these two together more often.
If you have fur babies, give them some extra cuddles today. Hug your loved ones. Hug a tree.
What’s an Everyday Miracle you noticed today?
With love,
