Tomorrow, we recognize Juneteenth–a federal holiday commemorating June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for Black Americans. It is also a call to action.

At Fenway Health, we know that freedom is incomplete without health equity. Our work is rooted in ensuring that those who have been historically underserved have access to high-quality, affirming, and culturally competent care. Advancing racial equity and social justice isn’t a footnote to our mission–it is our mission.

In the words of Civil Rights leader John Lewis: “Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society.”

Yesterday, June 17, Fenway Health was proud to have two of our leaders recognized at the 2026 Commonwealth Pride Awards, hosted by the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Legislative Caucus: Dallas Ducar, Executive Vice President of Donor Engagement & External Relations, and Lisa Krinsky, Director of the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project.

Please join us in thanking the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Legislative Caucus for their generosity and vision in creating an event that honors LGBTQ+ leaders across our Commonwealth—and in congratulating Dallas and Lisa for their extraordinary commitment to this work.

Last week at , we marched and stood together in community.

Pride is a reminder that visibility matters, healthcare matters, and everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and supported for who they are.
