Psychologists call this hedonic adaptation: it’s like getting a new toy as a kid. At first, it’s all you can think about, but soon enough, it’s just part of the pile. And this happens with both the good and the not-so-good. It's not a flaw; it’s just how our brains keep us moving forward, making room for the next chapter.
