We had so much fun at Bethel Pride at the Gem, last Saturday. We love the opportunity to connect with individuals, families, and other youth-serving organizations, to provide resources, and to be a part of such an important community event. Thank you to everyone who makes this celebration of equality, diversity, and authenticity possible!

As many as 1 in 10 older Americans are abused or neglected each year. A common form of elder abuse is when someone exploits the resources of an elder for monetary benefit, profit, or gain. Raising awareness about this growing issue is important in Maine due to our state’s rapidly aging population.

If you’re a friend or family member of a senior, asking yourself specific questions and recognizing the red flags may help you in preventing or responding to elder financial abuse: https://mainecreditunions.org/financial-literacy-blog/elder-financial-abuse-prevention/

When you visit Rumford Public Library this week, check out the art display in the Reading Room created by community members of all ages impacted by substance use. Then, join us, this Thursday, June 18th from 4-6pm at the Library for an opportunity to meet the artists and learn more about the project. We are so proud of all of the artists for creating these powerful pieces and honored to be a part of this project to reduce stigma and connect the community. Thank you to everyone that made this project possible!
