Pores are one of the most talked-about features of the skin — and often one of the most misunderstood.
The average person has around 5 million pores, with 15,000–20,000 located on the face alone. These tiny openings play an important role in maintaining skin health. They help regulate temperature, release sweat and oil, and support the skin’s natural balance.
Because pores are structural parts of the skin, they cannot disappear entirely — and that’s completely normal.
What we can improve, however, is their appearance.
When excess oil, buildup, or reduced collagen support the skin, pores can appear more visible. Supporting the skin through proper skincare, balanced sebum production, and treatments that stimulate collagen can help refine texture and make pores look less noticeable.
Treatments such as microneedling work by stimulating collagen production within the dermis, which helps strengthen the surrounding skin structure and tighten pore walls over time.
Healthy skin isn’t poreless.
It’s balanced, resilient, and well supported.
