In any given week, Wainwright House might host a women’s health panel, a meditation class, a children’s group, and a wedding. It’s a rare range of offerings, but at its heart is one simple idea: bringing people together.

The Watershed Literary Festival shares that spirit, connecting readers and writers to spark imagination and conversation. Spanning a variety of genres, the festival welcomes authors from near and far for readings and workshops that inspire our Rye community. 📖

As Wainwright House celebrates its 75th anniversary, we are proud to honor Watershed’s founders for creating such a meaningful experience for our community.

A place like Wainwright House endures because people choose to care for it - and keep choosing, year after year.

Robert “Bob” Manheimer is one of those people.

As former Board President and Treasurer, Bob helped guide Wainwright through challenging chapters, bringing steady leadership and a deep commitment to its future. His service helped sustain something precious: a place where people can find connection, discover new possibilities, and feel part of a community.

As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are proud to honor Bob and the lasting difference his dedication has made.

As we celebrate 75 years of Wainwright House, we are proud to honor Rich Savage—a Hall of Fame coach, beloved teacher, and an enduring source of encouragement for so many.

His legacy lives in the confidence he has nurtured, the possibility he has seen in others, and the lives he has helped shape.

On October 16, we look forward to celebrating Rich at our 75th Anniversary Diamond Benefit - an evening honoring legacy, community, and leadership. 💎 There’s so much to look forward to! Stay tuned as we share more of what’s in store for this very special evening.

And when we think about what we’re celebrating, it really is all of this.

The people who gather here. The conversations. The music. The movement. The celebrations. The quiet moments. That view that somehow never gets old. And a house that, for 75 years, has continued to make room for all of it.

That’s Wainwright. And that’s worth celebrating.

On October 16, we’re doing exactly that — beneath the tent, by the Sound, with incredible food, music, dancing, and a whole lot of fun. 🥂

And between now and then, we have plenty to share.

You laugh. You sneeze. You jump. And suddenly… you’re crossing your legs. 😳

We joke about it. We quietly accommodate it. We tell ourselves it’s just what happens after babies, or with age.

But what if it doesn’t have to be?

Your pelvic floor is the remarkable network of muscles that supports your bladder, bowel, uterus, and other pelvic organs—and it plays a role in everything from pregnancy, childbirth and s*x to core strength, exercise, and simply laughing without leaking.

For something that does so much, most of us know remarkably little about it.

DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH: An Honest Conversation About Pelvic Floor Health brings together three pelvic floor physical therapists and a high-risk OB/GYN for the conversation so many of us should have had years ago.

September finds its rhythm at Wainwright House. 🎻

At the heart of this month’s calendar is Strings on the Sound—an elegant evening of classical music beneath the tent, with sweeping waterfront views, complimentary w**e and light bites, and a beautiful program performed by the Sound Shore Quartet.

And there is something for our littlest community members, too, with Wunderkind’s Sensory Wonders: Toddle Time and Tiny Tales—joyful experiences designed especially for young children and their grown-ups.

From sound baths, breathwork, and Yoga Nidra to spiritual conversation, labyrinth walks, and a celebration of the Fall Equinox, September offers meaningful ways for every generation to gather, explore, and connect.
