Your baby is sick. You’re sick. And you might be thinking, “Should I keep breastfeeding?”

YES. If you’re able to, this is actually one of the times your breastmilk is doing something really freaking cool.

When you or your baby are exposed to an illness, your body can make antibodies to help fight that specific bug — and some of those immune factors are passed through your breastmilk.

So if your baby is sick? Keep feeding them.

If YOU are sick? You can generally keep breastfeeding, too.

Your milk doesn’t suddenly become “bad” because you have a cold. In fact, your milk is still providing immune support while your baby is fighting off whatever they picked up.

Your body is constantly responding to what your baby needs. It’s not magic. It’s just really, really cool biology. 🤯

And this is one of the many reasons I don’t want you making feeding decisions based on panic, outdated advice, or a random comment on the internet.

If you want someone in your corner to help you figure out breastfeeding, pumping, supplementation, supply, latch, or what the hell to do when things aren’t going as planned — that’s literally what I do.

Hot take: the 6-week postpartum appointment is total bull.

You grew a human for 9 months, go through birth and then only get ONE postpartum check-up at 6 weeks?!

You’re navigating hormones, sleep deprivation, feeding, bleeding, pain and a completely new identity but with one very quick check-up you’re told “everything looks good! You’re cleared. See you next year!”

Excuse me??

6 weeks isn’t the finish line. For a lot of moms it’s barely the beginning. Most of us are still healing, still figuring out feeding, still running on no sleep.

Even if everything looks “fine” medically, that doesn’t mean you suddenly feel fine. And you CERTAINLY don’t stop needing support because you got cleaned at your appointment.

Honestly the weeks and months after that appointment are when a lot of families need someone in their corner most. That’s a huge part of why I do what I do. I provide ongoing support so you’re not left in the dark whether you are day 1 postpartum or week 8, you deserve more than one appointment!

Pregnant or postpartum and want support that doesn’t disappear after the hospital and one appointment postpartum? Send me a DM and let’s talk about working together.

And if you’ve been through postpartum tell me: did you feel “recovered” at 6 weeks?!

👋 It’s been awhile.

If I’m being honest I don’t know what I’m doing on here anymore. Following trends with 3 kids, homeschool, a house remodel, working bedside and having a business feels impossible. And frankly, I don’t want to be someone who’s always online. I want to be here so moms find me and then get the real support they need offline.

A re-introduction to me and who I am. I’d love to connect and put the human back in this space that feels so disconnected from real life.

And if you’re seeing this and need support, please reach out! I’m here to help :)

I see you.

You’ve spent hours pacing the house with a baby who cries the moment you stop moving. You’ve bounced on the yoga ball until your back aches. You’ve skipped meals, cried in the shower, and wondered if you’re doing something wrong because everyone else seems to have a baby who can just... settle.

You’ve probably heard:
“It’s just colic.”
“Some babies are just like this.”
“You’ll just have to wait until they outgrow it.”

So you start believing this is simply your life for the next few months.

But what if that’s not the whole story?

While some babies are naturally more sensitive than others, excessive crying is worth understanding—not dismissing.

Feeding difficulties, reflux, tension, an overwhelmed nervous system, digestive discomfort, or other factors can all contribute to a baby who seems impossible to soothe.

You don’t have to spend months counting down the days until your baby “grows out of it” without ever asking why they’re struggling.

As an RN, Certified Lactation Counselor, and mom of three, I help families look beyond the label. Together, we’ll take a deep dive into your baby’s feeding, sleep, medical history, behavior, and nervous system to uncover what’s contributing to the crying and create a personalized plan that helps your baby feel better—and helps you finally breathe again.

You deserve more than, “It’s just colic.”

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start understanding your baby, send me a message or book a consultation through the link in my bio. Let’s figure it out together.

I will never forget sitting in the pediatricians office in tears listening to him say “some babies just cry a lot”. He wasn’t the one pacing with a baby who screamed 8+ hours a day. He wasn’t the one trying to parent a very overstimulated toddler while holding a screaming baby. He wasn’t the one who couldn’t leave the house because his baby wouldn’t stop crying.

If this is your reality let me say this: I see you.

You’ve spent hours pacing the house with a baby who cries the moment you stop moving. You’ve bounced on the yoga ball until your back seizes up. You’ve skipped meals, cried in the shower (while your baby cries next to you) and convinced yourself you’re doing something wrong because everyone else seems to have a baby who can just settle…

While some babies are naturally more sensitive than others, excessive crying is worth understanding—not dismissing. Crying is literally your babies only way of communication and I PROMISE they are not just crying to cry. Save that for the toddler years.
