Northern California Research is gearing up for the flu season. We are conducting pre- enrollment interest for our new flu study to start as flu season rolls in for those 65 years and older. Are you living with fibromyalgia or symptoms of fibromyalgia? If so, you may be eligible for the FORWARD Fibromyalgia study. The FORWARD study is looking for people who*:
• Are at least 18 years of age • Have fibromyalgia or experience the symptoms of fibromyalgia (muscle, joint, and bone pain, brain fog, trouble sleeping, etc.)
• Do not have any other conditions that cause pain besides fibromyalgia • Are interested in participating in the clinical study

The FORWARD study is looking at how an investigational medication AXS-14, also known as esreboxetine, may help fibromyalgia pain and other symptoms in adults. AXS-14 is an investigational medication for fibromyalgia. This means it has not yet been approved by the FDA for use in fibromyalgia. HOW ABOUT A FREE BREATHING TEST(PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST)?

We need volunteers and you may have chronic obstructive pulmonary diease. This noval nebulizer trial will last just over one month and the nebulizer/medication will be provided to those who enroll. Here are a few things to consider!

Enrollment criteria:
Looking for ages 40-80
Must be willing to do a chest X-ray as part of the trial
Current or former smoker
Be willing to complete 5 visits to the clinic plus 2 telephone calls
Be willing to take a breathing test known as a PFT

FIBROMYALGIA CLINCIAL TRIAL SEEKING VOLUNTEERS!
Its been a dry spell since new treatements, check it out!

Here at Nothern California Research, we are seeking volunteers with Fibromyalgia to evaluate the maintenance of efficacy of a new investigational treatment compared with placebo in the management of fibromyalgia as measured by pain and overall fibromyalgia symptoms

Some qualifications will be required, others may apply:
No Complex regional pain syndrome, failed back surgery syndrome, persistent or prevalent pain symptoms related to systemic disease (e.g., DPN and PHN), untreated hyperparathyroidism, or a history of prior surgery, trauma or other sources of pain.

Failed at least two courses of treatment with either tricyclic antidepressants or SNRI agents for fibromyalgia (i.e. duloxetine- Cymbalta or milnacipran – Savella, or Effexor)

Use of any herbal supplements, or any dietary products/supplements with potential central nervous system activity (including kava, SAMe, valerian root, DHEA, tyrosine, and 5-HTP), within 2 weeks

No cost to participate or need for medical insurance. Compensation up to $1550 if you complete the trial.

The study will span approximately 30 weeks (Around 7 months) duration. It comprises of a 4 week Screening period, followed by 12 weeks where you receive treatment, then 12 weeks of the double-blind randomized/withdrawal period where you may or may not receive treatment, followed by 2 weeks of follow up.
