At our next dance our closing will be a Song Healing with Smadar Levy ( )

In 2021, Smadar got very sick and embarked on a physical journey to heal her body that evolved into a spiritual journey to heal her heart, reignite her spirit, and remember her soul. Her path led her to diverse teachers, classes, and communities who gave her practical healing tools and supported her in exploring her own medicine and sharing it with others, including shamanic medicine music with Laura Inserra, reiki training with Rose Sacred Arts, community ritual-making at Rock Mama, psychic development with Tanya Richardson, consciousness workshops with the Awareness Institute, and Buddhist dharma study with the Insight Meditation Center.

As a lifelong music maker, one of Smadarโ€™s favorite healing practices is to improvise songs as a way to connect to herself and allow whatever is stirring within to come up and be felt, heard, and ultimately transmuted. She is excited to bring her song healing practice to a group with the intention of serving as a channel for what the group needs to hear and transmute and hopes to inspire others to try simple music-making for their own personal healing and self-exploration.

Make sure to stay till the end of dance to receive her Song Healing!

Some nights are worth clearing your schedule for.

As summer officially starts, social calendars are fuller than ever. But a full calendar isn't always what nourishes the soul. Quality time with your community does.

Come join us on June 26th. We have lots of bass music, an intuitive movement workshop, sound bath, massage, and chai. Enjoy it all while dancing with your favorite people all evening.

We hope your dance practice stays a priority this summer. We'd love to see you!

This month our dance lounge will be hosted by the team at Kodak Chai!

They will be serving their premium loose-leaf Reserve Chai lineup, brewed simply with hot water to let the natural flavors shine.

Aside from tasting amazing, all four of their signature flavors are packed with gut-friendly and immune-boosting spices like cardamom, fennel, ginger, and cloves.

Here is a sneak peek at the lineup:
Gulab (Rose): A rich, fragrant black tea blend.
Zaffran (Saffron): A luxurious, deeply aromatic black tea blend.
Kashmiri Kahwa: A traditional, soothing, and spiced green tea.
Bombay Cutting: The taste of Bombay in a minute.

They will be offering free tastings and large bottles for purchase if desired. Make sure to stop by the lounge to try their chai!

Turns out Sacramento has everything.

Ecstatic Dance is a DJ-led, shoes-off, substance-free dance journey. No choreography, just moving however your body wants to. This allows for connection, expression, and joy to come up.

Doors open at 7:20pm. We gather for a warm up, we dance with the DJ, and we close with a sound bath.

Our next dance is June 26. If this looks like your kind of thing, come find out. And if you know someone who needs this, share it with them!

Bringing a friend and showing up are two of the best ways to support what we're building here. ๐Ÿ’—

At our last dance, Mobile Modalities offered chair massage right on the dance floor. And we are so excited to welcome them back this month!

Megan Knight has been practicing massage for seven years. She lives in the Sacramento area, and her goal is to make the world a less tense place. With both dance and massage helping people move freely and feel at home in their bodies, she is excited to serve our community again.

On the floor, Megan offers chair massage at $3 a minute with a 5-minute minimum. She can focus on your neck, upper back, mid back, lower back, or glutes. Her style adapts to your preference, from deep tissue to lighter touch. She accepts cash and e-payments.

Come find her on the 26th. Don't have the date on your calendar yet? Check our pinned post for more info about our next dance.

When trying to describe ecstatic dance, a common reaction is, "so you just dance?!"

And it's correct! At the end of the day outside of intentions and tenets, ecstatic dance is just dancing your heart out, and it's incredible.

Our next dance is June 26th, you can see the pinned post for more info.

Make sure to share this post with your friends who need to dance their hearts out. ๐Ÿ’—

If you've been looking to unlock deeper levels of joy, play, and embodiment in your ecstatic dance practice, this workshop is for you.

Olivia DeGennaro will guide an opening practice called "emBODY Dance" to start the evening. We'll begin with intentional presence, grounding ourselves in the space and tuning into the wisdom of our own bodies. Then, Olivia will guide dancers through an exploration of our own intuitive movement. Through prompts and practices, we'll play with our relationship to the music, to different ways of moving through the space, and to our own unique, embodied expression.

Olivia has loved to dance as long as she can remember. In fact, her favorite memories throughout her life have happened on dance floors. Growing up, her dance studio was her refuge. Her safe space. Her therapy.

But when she went away to college, she lost touch with her connection to dancing. It wasn't until she moved back home to Sacramento, she began to rediscover her greatest love again. And at the end of 2021, the idea of a space for women to dance freely came to her as a divine download. That's how Goddess Night Out was born. With the support of local sisters in Sacramento, her community now gathers each month for a women's ecstatic dance temple under the full moon to connect, express, and release.

Since they started Goddess Night Out four years ago, Olivia has learned that her dance can be her prayer, her therapy, and her play all at once. Dance has not only reconnected her to her purpose; it has brought her back home to herself time and time again. Now, it's her life's mission to share the gift of dance with others and invite them into this practice that reminds us what a joy it is to be alive!

She also teaches weekly dance classes and monthly workshops at her studio, Sanctuary. You can learn more about all of her upcoming offerings through GoddessNightOut.org and DanceWithOlivia.com.

The workshop starts at 7:30 pm, and the doors open at 7:20 pm! Hope to see you there. Make sure to tag your friends in the comments!

It's been so lovely watching new faces become familiar ones.

From your first dance, that feeling of "I can't believe this exists," to showing up month after month because you know what this community does for you.

That shift is real, and it doesn't happen by accident. It happens because you kept coming back.

Your consistency, in showing up for yourself and for others, is something worth honoring.

We are so glad you found your dance family. See you tomorrow!
