I shared this post with a local preparedness group I am part of and wanted to share it wider audience because of its general importance. Below is just one news story about PFAS and agriculture and there are many more. I send it because not all emergencies are sudden catastrophic ones. I would bet a HUGE portion of the food supply in this country is contaminated with concerning chemicals that affect our health, even from sources thought to be "organic and natural" because of the insidious ways these things are finding routes into the land that grows our food, especially meat. One of the reasons I am raising my own beef is not just preparedness but for the future health of my kids. We are lucky here in CA as we have good watersheds in general, not a lot of manufacturing generating PFAS, but when you go to the store you have no idea of the origin of the meats and produce you buy. Could be Texas, could be Brazil. Just a public service announcement . . .
The fertilizer maker says its products are safe, and that the government supports using it as a valuable practice that recycles nutrients to farmland.
