Authentic Inaction™ is not about standing still or doing nothing.

It is found in those small but important moments in our day-to-day lives where we can, and yet rarely do, make choices that connect who we are with what we do.

It gives us permission to live a less productive life, one that acknowledges the limits of our attention, energy, and time, and brings into sharper focus what we are truly meant to do.

Awareness comes first, no different than with other addictions.

For the majority of my life, I have been proud of being a doer. I come from a long line of doers. But many of us suffer from doing too much, and it has contributed to burnout, broken relationships, and a loss of our truest sense of who we are.

The good news is we get to choose.

I am definitely an action ju**ie. But so are many of the people I spend my life with.

Why do we choose to “do,” often at the expense of “being”? What is our addiction really about?

Here are the 4 doers I’ve identified and come to know, and in some ways, I find myself in each of them.

Which one do you recognize? Tell me in the comments. 👇

That restless feeling isn’t laziness. It’s often an old belief still running quietly in the background: that your worth is tied to how much you produce.

The good news is that beliefs can be questioned. And rest can be practiced.

Learning to rest without guilt is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. It’s also one of the most important.

So here’s a gentle question for you: what does rest actually feel like in your body right now? Tell me in the comments. ❤️

Save this for the next time sitting still feels uncomfortable, and share it with someone who needs the reminder.

Presence isn’t what most people think it is.

It’s not some perfect meditative state where your mind goes quiet and stays that way. It’s not the absence of stress or a calendar with nothing on it.

It’s smaller than that, and honestly harder.

It’s noticing you’re scrolling your phone mid-conversation and choosing to put it down. It’s catching yourself already three steps ahead while today is still happening in front of you. It’s the pause before you react, instead of after.

Presence isn’t a destination you arrive at once. It’s a thousand small returns to right now.

The question I stopped avoiding after 20 years of “doing.”

For most of my career, I equated worth with output. If I was achieving, producing, moving, I told myself I was on the right track.

It took leaving a $1,000,000/year executive role to finally ask myself the question I’d been avoiding: what am I actually building all of this for?

Not what should I do next. Not what’s the next goal. Just, what do I actually want my life to feel like?

I didn’t have an answer right away. Most people don’t.

But that question is what led me to what I now call Authentic Inaction™, choosing presence over performance, one pause at a time.

If you’ve been moving so fast you haven’t asked yourself that question in a while, consider this your permission to stop and ask it.

What are you actually building all of this for?

That’s the trap of doing. We keep moving, achieving, producing, because it feels safer than sitting still long enough to ask what we actually want.

I spent years there. Successful by every external measure, and quietly disconnected from myself underneath it all.

Authentic Inaction™ isn’t about doing less for the sake of doing less. It’s about learning to pause long enough to hear what’s true for you, before you decide what to do next.

Some of the most important growth happens in the stillness, not the hustle.

Where in your life are you doing so much that you’ve stopped listening to yourself?

SoulFULL Living Retreat:
Day Two
Theme: KNOW… reconnect with your inner voice and truth beyond old narratives and expectations.

Monday was about KNOW.

Not knowing in the way we usually think about it—not more information, more answers, or figuring ourselves out.

This kind of knowing asked us to go inward.

To get curious about the stories that have shaped us. The experiences that have left their mark. The roles we’ve learned to play. The beliefs and patterns we’ve picked up along the way. The parts of ourselves we’ve amplified, quieted, protected, or perhaps lost touch with altogether.

Because before we can decide what we want to change, release, or become, we have to understand what brought us here.

We began with our Lifelines, looking back across the chapters of our lives—not to stay in the past, but to see more clearly how those experiences have shaped who we are today.

And from there, we explored what it actually means to live a SoulFULL life.

A SoulFULL life isn’t about creating an entirely new life. It isn’t necessarily about changing the job, the relationship, the house, or everything happening around us.

It’s about coming home to the deeper part of ourselves underneath all of it.

The part beyond the roles we play and the expectations we’ve learned to meet. The place where our head, heart, and body come together. Where we can hear our own inner voice again and begin distinguishing what is truly ours from what we’ve simply learned to carry.

That was the invitation of KNOW.

Not to judge the woman we’ve been.

To understand her.
To honor what shaped her.
And perhaps to hear, a little more clearly, the woman underneath it all.

Day One: COMMUNITY ❤️

There is something pretty extraordinary about watching a group of women arrive from different places, carrying different stories, different seasons of life, different reasons for saying yes…and then watching a community begin to form almost immediately.

Yesterday was about arrival.

Arriving in Costa Rica. Arriving at this unbelievably beautiful place. Arriving to one another. And maybe, most importantly, beginning to arrive more fully to ourselves.

There were hugs and introductions. Laughter over dinner. First conversations that quickly became real conversations. Women wandering the property, taking in the beauty around us and beginning to settle into the rhythm of this place and this week.

We talk a lot at SoulFULL Living about the importance of community because so much of our lives is lived in relationship. We need places where we can be seen and known. Where we don’t have to have everything figured out. Where we can show up exactly where we are and trust that there is room for all of it.

And you could already feel that beginning yesterday.

Twelve women who, just hours earlier, were mostly strangers are beginning to become something else.

A community.

For the next five days, we will KNOW. HEAL. SEE. LOVE. We will explore our stories, our identities, our emotions, our bodies, our relationships, and who we may be becoming in this next chapter of our lives.

But before any of that, we begin here.

Together.

Welcome home, SoulFULL women.❤️
