From Passion to Purpose: Advocacy, Leadership, and OTAC’s Powerful Future (.5 PDUs)
As OTAC celebrates its 50th Anniversary, this keynote invites practitioners to reflect on the
profession’s remarkable journey while envisioning the opportunities ahead. Through personal stories of patient care, mentorship, and advocacy, Arabit will explore how passion for helping others evolves into purpose-driven leadership. Grounded in the belief that occupational therapy restores possibility, dignity, and hope, the address
will challenge every practitioner to recognize their capacity to lead — whether in clinical practice, education, research, or community engagement. Honoring the pioneers who built occupational therapy in California, this keynote will issue a call to action: move beyond celebrating our past and actively build a powerful future for the profession. Attendees will leave inspired to transform their passion into purpose, their purpose into advocacy, and their advocacy into leadership — ensuring occupational therapy continues to transform lives for generations to come
